After a few minutes, two shots were fired. He sat up instantly and pulled off his eye-mask. Frightened, he got up and briskly but quietly walked over to the window. His orange eyes glowed in the moonlight as they traveled down to the ground beneath.

Cirris saw three men down there, two on one. One of them held a gun. The one man alone was a demon, his horns curved upwards, and his tail lashed behind him.

He watched with a straight face as the man raised the gun on the demon, holding it sideways. So, it was a gang member instead of a bounty hunter, it was clear. The gangs in NY were always trashy, but you could tell if they were bounty hunters.

Cirris opened his window silently and climbed out, his body free-falling for a brisk two seconds before his large, feathered wings spread out. Cirris beat his wings powerfully, his eyes looking down at the two humans. The gunman’s partner looked up, alerted from the sound.

“What are you on about?” Muttered the gunman, taking his attention off of the demon. He looked up and his eyes widened at the sight of Cirris diving towards him at an alarming speed, his body stiffening before reacting. He landed on top of him and caused him to fall backwards, dropping his gun in the process. Cirris towered over him; his orange eyes bright as his wings flared up over his head in a frightening way.

The gunman’s partner was already long gone, which had struck fear into the gunman now that he knew he was all alone in this. He managed to scramble away; Cirris could smell the fear pouring out of him as he ran out of the alleyway.

He hummed softly, settling his wings down slowly and neatly onto his back. He slowly turned away and towards the demon, his orange eyes finally meeting his blood red ones. Cirris's eyes darted to his side, his black blood pouring through his fingers. This demon could definitely handle a bullet, he was massive. The bullet most-likely got lodged between his muscles considering his heart rate.

Cirris took a step back and lifted his wings, soon looking away from him before he soared up into the sky. The demon's head shot up, now watching Cirris climb back into his window.

He stuttered for a few seconds before getting out the words, “H-Hey uhm- W-Wait!” He called out, but Cirris had already climbed back into his apartment. His eyes narrow softly as he stuck his head out the window once again to look down at him.
