WTF MAN. Also, every server besides Penana is set to like only mentions. ANYWAYS. while I'm doing this presentation the notif goes off and i turn off my volume my laptop is muted. we turn off all the sound BUT STILL ENTIRE FUCKING PRESENTATION

Cyclists whir by in a blur of activity, epitomising a healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle. It's hard not to admire their striking balance between calm composure and vibrant living. Whether it's the stunningly handsome or the effortlessly beautiful, their appearance seems to reflect their lifestyle—active, healthy, and incredibly welcoming.

Language, often a barrier thick as a fortress wall in many countries, is a mere curtain here, brushed aside with ease as nearly everyone switches to English with a fluency that is both impressive and a relief, despite knowing some Dutch myself. This linguistic agility opened up avenues of deeper connection and understanding during my stay, culminating in a medical academic conference where I stood as a speaker. Presenting on intricate matters of clinical medicine and novel surgical technology, surrounded by peers equally adept in their fields, I felt a seamless part of a global dialogue—a testament to the country’s inclusive and internationally minded spirit.

The culinary landscape in the Netherlands, much like its physical one, is a delightful surprise. From the hearty, comforting stroopwafels and bitterballen to the exquisite Michelin-starred offerings that dot the cities, the Dutch palette is as varied as it is delicious. Each meal is an invitation not just to taste but to savour and remember.

And oh, the vistas! Fields punctuated by the vivid hues of tulip blooms in the spring, the serene stretches of the countryside dotted with windmills and farmhouses, and the sea kissing the shores with a dutiful regularity. Each view seems to whisper a story of its own, a silent narrative that begs you to stop and listen with your eyes.

As my journey concluded, a certain melancholy took hold—the kind reserved for the end of delightful days and memorable sojourns. With its intriguing blend of old-world charm and new-age dynamism, the Netherlands had etched itself into my memory, inviting, almost imploring, for a return. And return I shall, for how could one resist such a hearty embrace of life and living? Indeed, the Dutch have mastered the art of inviting you in and making you yearn for just one more day in their picturesque land.

This probably should've been the first chapter I made, and I should've done this a long time ago for this. Coming to terms with this is honestly the hardest part I had in starting to write as a hobby, but then I remembered that I'm doing this for fun and not as a job. And this might be wrong, but the problem is being able to find an idea that doesn't feel like something else even at more than just the bare bones of the idea? I just want to say that, if originality is what's stopping you from writing, even as a hobby, then that's fine. Don't outright plagiarize, that's bad, but don't stress out over being 100% original because you'll never get anything done.

So many concepts that are commonplace in all genres come from somewhere else. Elves have existed throughout history in many forms from the smaller, more-Christmas elves to the tall, lithe and beautiful light and dark elves, and the second has dominated the modern fantasy scene, not that I'm complaining as half-elf is my preferred race for table-top rpgs. Warp drive is an important part of most space sci-fi and yet, while very similar, most find interesting and different ways to do it. Star Wars has it more like specific corridors to travel along, Star Trek is more like going the speed of light, and Warhammer 40K is basically opening a portal to hell to travel through from my understanding.

The problem with originality is not being 100% original, but rather taking what many consider an old tired idea and twisting it into something at least somewhat unique. Go through your favorite movie/book/game and compare it to similar games, strip them to their bare bones and look at how similar they are at their core. Hollow Knight is a zombie apocalypse brought on by a malevolent force, Dark Souls is a fantasy game where you are the chosen one who is to decide the fate of the land, etc. This part is more reassurance than anything so let me finish it here.

Go ahead and brainstorm. Come up with ideas and dive in headfirst to twist that tired idea into something else. Good luck and have fun

For someone writing a blog about world domination I couldn’t be further from my ultimate goal. Right now I’m sitting in a chair all day, just staring at a screen being bored. Lazy I still tend to think. But I have to be honest with myself: chronic tiredness is a cruel villain. That doesn’t mean I don’t hate sitting here, staring at an empty page, trying to find the energy to at least do something today.It's a strange position I never thought I would find myself in. Still there’s some beauty in it. Because wouldn’t it make a great start for a story? A protagonist both chronically ill and chronically bored, trying to rule the world. Sure, it’s a long climb, but we all like an underdog.Now another problem is my utter lack of a plan. Most of the time I am just winging it. Not a great way to start if you want to rule them all. Well, most world leaders seem to do great by ignoring everyones problems and just doing what they feel like. But I actually want to be a sort of good person. Or at least, I want people to question if I am evil. Not outright know it for sure. So I have some thinking to do.Maybe there’s a few things on my to do list for now. They won’t get me quite where I want to be, but they are a first stepping stone of sorts. Something to work on while I’m working on the bigger things. I could probably even use them as a cover of sorts. Just in case an FBI agent clicks on this book and thinks it serious. Then they can just be like: nah, it’s just a woman talking about her books. Nothing to see here 🙂

I am a little too proud of the chronically ill and bored line. Would be a shame if I couldn’t use it anymore. Seriously I have a free pass to make all kinds of illness related jokes and I finally have a place to use them! I don’t want to lose that right by getting better. Would be kind of stupid, don’t you think?​​​​​​​Anyway, for now I’ve shared my goals with you. So maybe it’s time to do something with my life. Maybe I start with staring at my screen and thinking about my story for a bit. Turns out writing a fantasy book without a plot isn’t the greatest idea. But I can’t help it that my characters trew my plot away. I didn’t give them free will.I’m really starting to wonder if this ruling over the world thing is a good idea. I wasn't expecting a good start, not on a Monday of all days. I woke up invigorated and alive; I even remembered to take my pills today. I think the excitement of witnessing a solar eclipse encouraged me to be so upbeat. I don't usually look forward to school, but I couldn't wait to observe the eclipse during my 9th period. Now, I'm sorely disappointed; I missed the complete eclipse. The complete eclipse happened while I was in 8th period; My teacher wouldn't allow us outside, instead opting for a live stream. Big downer, now I have to wait twenty years for another chance.

I should've asked to stay home. Although, I had a test to do today. A summative essay for US History: pulled most of my information out of my ass, though. I probably got no better than a low B. And god forbid I miss any review for the Algebra test on Friday. I wouldn't have missed the division drama; my day would've been better without it.

I don't understand how Panther II can walk around with his self-proclaimed "Sigma energy" yet be too afraid to apologize in person. I didn't know being a sigma included acting like a little bitch. Seriously, he went out of his way to contact his friend to send his message, begging the only friend I have left from the division to contact him three months after the division dissolved because he was scared to apologize. Extremely childish, as always.

But boo, hoo, it doesn't bother me all too much anymore; he can continue trying to remedy unfixable problems. I'm not going to be there when his new little division goes to shit as well. All I need is my family and the friends I have left.
