The next section is all off-stage. The lights are the only changing things. There is a sharp long high high-pitched scream. Then Constance walks on. The knife is now dripping with blood. Constance looks really happy. But in a scary way
narrator storms into the room and is very upset.
Narrator: Constance you have to stop. Constance…
Constance: Listen, idiot. The only sounds are police sirens. Let me clean myself up okay?
(she turns toward a sink but stops.)
Constance: How did you get in here? (turns around to face the Narrator)
Narrator: You have to understand something… (Constance slowly walks to him, this keeps going during the line until he is cornered.) You're in a play. This is a play. I am just a Narrator, you are just (actor's name). You're going insane. (Constance raises her knife.) What are you doing? (Constance stabs the Narrator. Someone grabs his arms or legs and drags him off.)
