“Oh yeah!” I said. “We don’t have a spare room so you have a choice on where you sleep. Either on the couch, which I didn’t think you would want, my room, you can have the bed or we could figure something out, or you can share with Alice.”

“.....in your room Luke.” I felt a surge of happiness when she said that but when I looked back at Alice and saw the sad look on her face I felt bad. Kenza must have seen it too because she spoke directly to Alice to make her feel better. “I’m sorry Alice. I know you wanted me to stay with you but I figured you would want your room to yourself and me and your brother are really good friends. Does that make sense?”

By the time their conversation was over I was pulling into the driveway. Mom and Dad must have heard me pull in because they were instantly at the door, opening the door and standing there with angry faces.

I put the car in park and looked over at Kenza, she had a worried look on her face and she wouldn’t look at me. “Hey, look at me Kenza,” she slowly looked over at me and before I could try to reassure her that everything would be fine I got lost in her sky blue eyes.

Then at the same time we looked behind us to talk to Alice. She was just sitting there watching us the whole time. “Luke, why did you stop talking for a minute?” She asked.

Before answering I looked at Kenza to see she was just as curious as Alice. Keeping my eyes on Kenza I said, “I saw something beautiful.” Kenza was shocked when I said that and Alice just nodded like whatever. “Now come on, we need to get inside so that we can unload the car.”

Ignoring their yelling I waited for Kenza and Alice to get out so we could go inside. I grabbed both their hands and pulled them with me towards my mad parents.

We walked up to the door and I tried to go around them but they weren’t having that. They stood there and moved to block our path into the house.

They blocked my path again. I was getting really irritated with them. Yes I should have asked them and respected what they said, but then again I was helping a friend in need of my help and they should have respected that.

“Can you guys just leave us alone? I’m sure Kenza would like to get settled down and Alice doesn’t want to hear us arguing like this.” I tried to reason with them. They just kept on standing there and glaring at us. I went to walk around them and this time they let us.

I carried Alice into her room right across the hall and by the time I went to put her in her bed she was already asleep.

I put her down softly to not wake her up and then covered her up. After I finished covering her up I went back to my room and laid down next to Kenza.

“I can see where Alice is coming from, I’m tired too.” Now that I could sit down for a minute the tiredness caught up to me.

Before I fell asleep I was thinking about Kenza. I was pretty sure that I like her now, but I’ll find out for sure later after we wake up and talk more.
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot that I needed to look at that girl Julia’s Facebook to see if there’s anything she knows about Aviana. But that can wait till later. Sleep was fastly creeping up on me. I need to quit thinking.
