Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find a student standing outside, energetically greeting me and saying in rapid succession, "Hello! I'm the student council president! You're the exchange student, right? It's great to meet you! After you're done unpacking, I'll take you to visit the student council room. I bet you haven't been there yet, right? Why not go now?"
Then he casually glanced at the illustrations hanging on my wall, his eyes lit up, and he exclaimed, "Your drawings are amazing! Incredible! I'm really impressed!" I repeatedly thanked him, still unsure of the situation, as he led me out of the room.
He then took me to a place and introduced it as the student council’s gathering spot. As soon as I stepped in, "Bang! Bang! Bang!"—the sound of firecrackers filled the air, giving me a big surprise. I soon realized they were celebrating my arrival.
There were all kinds of snacks and drinks, and I could see students chatting together. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful. I sat down, enjoying the snacks on the table, and suddenly felt a sense of relaxation and acceptance, as if I could continue striving in this new environment.
As time passed, one week later, the student council president, now one of my friends, invited me to participate in the school’s art exhibition. He explained that the exhibition would feature works from both internal and external artists.
I hesitated for a moment, as this was quite a challenge for me, but the president enthusiastically said, "This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your talents! How wonderful! I think your artwork is amazing! Ah, not just me—everyone is really looking forward to seeing more of your work!" Seeing his encouraging eyes, I eventually agreed.
On the day of the exhibition, I felt both nervous and excited. When I entered the exhibition hall, I saw that the walls were filled with works from different students. I couldn’t help but feel a little inferior, thinking to myself, "With so many impressive works, will mine seem too ordinary?"
However, when I hung up my own work, many classmates and teachers came over to admire it, their eyes filled with approval and curiosity.
Especially towards the end of the exhibition, a renowned external art teacher approached me, looked at my work, and said, "Your style is very unique, and your expressiveness is strong. Keep up the great work!"
Hearing this, I couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion inside. It gave me a new sense of presence and confidence, filling me with pride. I realized that this exchange student experience had been enriching, not only at this school but also in my future life.
