I am an ordinary student with average grades, but I have a special talent—drawing. At school, my illustrations are often praised by my classmates, and they have become the one thing I'm truly proud of.
One day, I arrived at a school as an exchange student. I carried light luggage and boarded a long bus. The view outside the bus window changed rapidly, yet it seemed like we never reached our destination. I vaguely felt that this journey was long, and the bus seemed to cross the entire city, passing countless streets.
Finally, as the bus ride neared its end, it stopped at an unfamiliar station. I hesitated for a moment, and a question suddenly arose in my mind: "Is this really my destination?"
Before I could think too much, I followed a student in a school uniform off the bus, still wondering if I had taken the wrong path. The student appeared friendly, and perhaps sensing my confusion, he smiled at me and took the initiative to lead me towards the school.
We soon arrived at the school entrance, where a few teachers and students were already waiting for me. They warmly invited me to tour the school and dormitory, introducing the history of the school and the purpose of some of its facilities as we walked.
When we reached the dormitory area, I realized that I seemed a bit different from the other students. I remembered that my aunt had helped me rent a place, so I should be staying in a dormitory near the school, but I had never seen what the dormitory looked like or even knew where it was located.
When I expressed my doubts, it seemed as if they knew something. Under their guidance, I was taken to a large room.
The room looked somewhat old and shabby, giving off a sense of history, yet it was very spacious. The teacher explained that this had once been a warehouse and had only recently been converted into a student dormitory room. I now understood that my accommodation was not in the school’s newest dormitory but in this large, renovated space.
The teacher said, "You're an art student, right? This large room will allow you to draw freely." I nodded, and everyone left the room to give me space to unpack.
Although I had brought only light luggage, I quickly took out my drawing tools and materials, placing some illustrations and paintings on the walls and table. In the blink of an eye, the entire room was filled with my things. I cleared some space and prepared to start sketching.
