Cassian kept looking at her from above, watching with curious yet dangerous eyes. Like a Hawk watching its pray. He was amused at how quickly Emery had come here, not knowing how dangerous it can be if you're the next in line for the Covenant. "Curious, little ghost.." He mumbled to himself, watching her every move as if he was hypnotized by her. And for a fragment of a second he swore he saw her look up at him. Their eyes locking, until her head turned back to the chest she was focused on. Down below, Emery kept looking inside the chest, groaning or sighing every time she found something useless inside and throwing it aside. She felt something or someone looking at her, but she didn't push. But it felt strangely cold for her liking, especially for a Summer night, it's always warm by this time even at night, the least is humid. But it wasn't warm nor humid, it was cold, freezing. Like an early Winter morning.
She looked up for a moment, her eyes locking on someone else's eyes. Curious yet dangerous eyes, but she didn't know who it was. She didn't care, she looked back at the chest, reaching her hand inside. Her fingertips touched something hard, cold. Then sharp, she retrieved her hand quickly, wincing at the pain on her finger.7Please respect copyright.PENANAWc4zVoReva
"Dammit." She hissed, reaching in again and pulling it out. A dagger? It was pretty, golden. Something you'd find in a fantasy pirate movie. She ran her right finger against it, dust collecting on the fabrics of her skin. When she looked at her finger, there was gold, golden dust. She blinked, staring at it in awe.
"Oh, so you found the pretty little dagger, hm?" Asked someone behind her, the sharp voice cutting through the silence. She turned around to look at the source, blinking when she saw Cassian smiling softly at her, her stomach erupted in a feeling she couldn't explain. She brushed it away, clearing her throat.7Please respect copyright.PENANA1tmFztqgAx
"So is this your hobby? Stalking people and sneaking up on them when they least expect it?" She questioned, standing up. Cassian chuckled lightly, shaking his head.
"Not exactly, you see little ghost. Stalking and spying are two different things. Stalking is when two people go on a romantic walk together, but only one of them knows-- And spying is when two people barely know each other, yet the one doing the watching is slowly obsessing over the other. Like going stargazing, but the only star they'll ever gaze at is the one right in front of them." He explained, his eyes clouding just a bit, making that funny feeling come back inside her stomach.
"Whatever, don't make me punch you again." She groaned.
"Oh, starling. That won't be necessary, you don't need to be afraid of me. The only thing you have to promise that you won't do is trust me." He whispered, tucking a hair strand behind her ear. 7Please respect copyright.PENANAK3ApF7UqH7
"And why can't I trust you?"7Please respect copyright.PENANAu3e7TuFBvi
"Because the more you do, the more you'll get hurt. So I can't let you get too close." He said, his hand falling from her face, his voice drifting away slightly. She blinked, swallowing.7Please respect copyright.PENANA4N8c6E4I9h
"Right, well. Thanks, for giving me the hint and leading me here..." 7Please respect copyright.PENANAYTQa1vfGvu
"Of course, but I won't text you all the time. We have to come up with a plan. So we can meet up more often, and not make it seem weird for your parents that their sweet daughter is sneaking out at night." He said, running a hand through his hair. She nodded, thinking for a moment. But she was haunted by him just standing in front of her, looking dangerous yet alluring. They locked eyes again, time stopping. This was dangerous, yet he didn't pull away because he was like that watcher, obsessing over someone he just met. And she was confused, she knew she shouldn't trust him, but there was no use.
