"I had no choice," Damien answered after giving it some thought. "He was about to unleash an attack that would've killed a lot of people and one of my friends. We'd gone the entire fight with me not even considering controlling him through his blood, and in the moment...I knew that I had to stop him. If it were you in my position, what would you have done?"
Trevor looked at Wren with understanding.
"We've fought Junichiro before. We know he didn't exactly make situations easier," Trevor admitted.
"He was fighting for what he believed was best for Dad. There was likely nothing you could've done to stop him," Wren admitted. "Even had you controlled him, he'd have resisted you until it killed him. He'd likely have died either way..."
"If it means anything, I'm sorry," Damien said, removing his hat as a sincere gesture.
Wren and Trevor looked at each other then back at Damien before giving him a subtly nod of acceptance. After that, everyone felt the mental fatigue of the days set in as they chose to camp out for the night.

Suddenly, I abruptly awoke to see Michael and Tymon standing by me. I wasn't in the bed I'd fallen asleep in anymore. I was sitting in what seemed like a medical room.
"Finally, after two weeks I was going stir crazy," I heard Avarice's voice say from somewhere out of view.
