Hi, Rubies! It's me, Anita! Now for those who have seen my profile, you would know that I have published and deleted books a number of times to be annoying. I know its been a while since I've been active on my account but I assure you, I've been busy cooking up a brilliant collection of books for you guys!
Now, just a bit of TMI. I've been struggling to write for awhile because I've been trying to find my book style/theme. If you're an author, you know what I mean but basically it means I've been trying to discover "my type of stories".
Which for many people can mean a lot of things like werewolf/vampire mania, greek mythology and such like. It's more than just picking a genre, it's about how this genre draws, motivates you, what about the stereotypes that people write about do you want to manipulate or change to draw readers. For example, take the author JK Rowling, her theme is purely witches and wizards but what about them that she change?
Witches and wizards are usually depicted as servants to a monarch or outcasts to society but in her book she places them higher up the food chain. Have you noticed the way she shows the dynamic between normal people and the magical community? They call them "Muggles" which is a diminutive word which placed humans below the magical community. Rowling breaks the norm by making the witches/wizards above the normal world, the elites. Its shown in the books when Dumblebore came to Harry's house or in the way Mr Weasley is obsessed with them like they're exotic animals he wants to study. Non-magicals are pitied in Rowling's books and that is what she tries to show her readers. The nature of how people view those different to them.
So, an book style/theme is what you wish to tell your readers in your books, what idea of the world you wish to bring forward and it was only recently that I figured it out but I'm not going to tell you straight up. I hope that with these books, you can figure it out for yourself.
Welcome, my Rubies, to the Seraphim Chronicles. I hope you follow along with me as I discover a world brimming with magic, mystery and adventure.
So as I always say (which if you've read my earlier books you'd know)
READ OR IMMA HUNT YOU DOWN AND MAKE YOU MYSELF!!!
kay-kay Byeeeeeeee!
