The Heights? Not there. What about the Canyon? Not there either. The HQ? Nope.
”The Swords. They’re gone.”
“All of them?”
”Yeah… Except this one…”
Buck held out the Linked Sword.
“That puny thing?”
Buck, Hope and The Hooded man sigh simultaneously.
”Where did you check..?”
Buck scratches his sphere-shaped head, then remembered.
”Well I went to the Heights first, where all of them are of course... then I used the D.E.V.I.C.E to teleport to the Chaos Canyon and The HQ but they weren’t there either...”
The Hooded Man clears his throat.
”And the Rocket Arena?”
Hope raises an eyebrow, waiting for the answer. A long awkward silence prolongs before something is finally said.
”YOU DIDN’T THINK TO CHECK THERE?! THATS LITERALLY WHERE ALL THE TERRORS LIVE.”
”Look, i’ll go there in a minute.. its just.. after our victory 9 years ago, i kind of lost my skills in fighting.”
Everyone hears a door open and close. Buck turned around and sees Guardian. Guardian was built very fair despite her many fights. Not too strong, not too weak. She wore colourful clothing that represented the colours of the swords and a red bow on her head to represent her bloodthirsty nature. Though she never looked like a fighter, she had the lives of many Attackers on those cold-blooded hands.
”Pass it here.” Hope whispers.
Buck gave the Linked Sword to Hope. Hope walked around the room and thought for a while before she finally said ”Never mind. You got us in this mess. You get us out of it.”
Guardian seemed confused. And half-asleep. All she gets to do is sit around in the Heights almost all day every day to make sure there aren’t any intruders but she has the habit of.. slacking off.
”I’m gonna get the sacred weapons back.. with that small thing?”
“You could try. I mean.. they aren’t that strong right? If you could beat them in battle and take the swords with your bare fists, whats stopping you now that you have an actual weapon?”
”Well, The TERRORS- the ones who took it all have managed to get.. really powerful.”
”What do you mean?”
Guardian looks around in confusion. Hope tells the GUARDIAN about how Telamon, the creator of these powerful beasts they call swords, talked to The TERRORS and gave them a job.
Take the swords from the Heights and punish humanity for their sins. But only when you become worthy.
“Of course its just their belief that Telamon even exists and all that considering its a religion and all. But in order for them to become worthy, they need to be really strong to even try to “punish humanity.”
”I see. Their delusions are blinding them?”
”Affirmative. And there’s only one person who can stop them. And that person is you I’m afraid.”
The Guardian sets off.
