I close my eyes

And there looking down upon me

With dark eyes and creeping shadows

The essence of evil

And he points his finger and laughs at me

His piercing voice consuming my soul.

I close my eyes and force him away

But alone I am not strong enough.

Falling to my knees

I fight and struggle but he's smothering me,

Leaving me breathless and weak.

When the darkness fades

I look up, and there, before me

I see my friends.

With strength renewed I run

But something blocks my path.

My fists bleed against the glass

I won't give in

But alone I'm not strong enough.

Again his voice echos around me

Laughing at me, mocking me

I put my back against the glass

And slide to the ground in one last attempt

To shield what is left of me.

My friends grow nearer,

Their voices an echoing meaningless hope.

The glass shakes....

The laughing aruptly stops.

Still, I do not move,

Hugging myself... telling myself...

I am invensible.

The glass cracks

I feel him retreating. Silence

Still, I do not move.

The glass shatters

The shards embedding themselves

Into the flesh of my back.

Warm liquid flows down my skin

And tears fill my eyes.

I had known all along...

I close my eyes

And where he had been

Is now an empty bleeding void.

My friends... they call to me,

And all I have left

Stumbles over my bodily remains

And willingly goes to them.

In the end

My eyes never opened again.
