Fear Itself

"We have nothing to fear, but fear itself",

Are the words on the mantel, on the shelf.

The words that are true, but not,

It should be a little different, though, let me give it a shot.

"We have nothing to fear, but the fear in ourselves", is what I think,

Because it's the fear we give ourselves that causes us to sink.

The power of fear is no laughing matter.

It is the bane which causes any shield to shatter.

No one is free, none are equal,

But fear is the challenge to test thou will.

For the amount of fear we have is little without help,

But we let it grow to adult from whelp.

But without it, we are no one,

Without it, I'm just another son.

So that fear should give you fuel,

Use it to fight your duel.

The duel with earth, and it's evil forces,

Through the valley and it's endless courses.

And at the end, we rest,

For we've given our best.

Nothing will make us stop,

'Til we reside on top.
