Helen felt a really rough jolt that washed away the dream she was having when she reopened her eyes. She could see the sky again; she turned her head around to only figure out she was still on the island which she had fallen onto.
"Helen, are you okay, you seem to collapse right after the mist had faded." :(Voice of Noah stated in the earpiece on Helen's right ear)
"Yes, I am fine, nothing too dangerous had happened, how long did I collapse for?" :(Helen replied with curiosity)
"Well, you were in that state for 15 hours until the next dawn had arrived." :(Voice of Noah explained in the earpiece)
"By the way, how do I summon my ship?" :(Helen asked as she had no clue what to do now)
"Well, that something you need to figure out, who needs ship when you can glide across the water effortlessly." :(Voice of Noah responded to Helen's question)
"Well, it is pretty good and quite convenient, I just wonder where do I get these arrows." :(Helen responded as she checked the arrow count in her quiver)
"Well, your arrows are directly linked to your aircraft, I suppose had not mentioned this there should be a dial on your bow which I think can select between type of arrows you use. I suggest you experiment it out." :(Voice of Noah stated in Helen's right ear)
"Thanks for the heads-up, Noah, I am going to test it out now." :(Helen said as she pulled one of her arrows from her quiver and loaded it on her bowstring)
Helen looked at the dial on her bow, it reads projectile type she read through the dial trying to figure out what to use. She noticed it had three types of 5 inch round with the 1st being HC Mark-41 with PD, MT and VT fuze. 2nd being SP Common Mark 42 Mod 0-1, and finally Illuminate Mark 43-8. Other option she noticed on the dial was type of attack with 1st being aerial, 2nd submerged, 3rd surface and the last being land with options labelled as BB, TO and DC respectively. She had no clue what each attack mode does.
"Sorry to interrupt you again, Noah, but what does each of the attack modes does?" :(Helen asked the AI named Noah over the earpiece)
"Well, you or your ship can engage in four dimensions with 1st being air, 2nd is submerged, 3 above the water and 4th being land?" :(Voice of Noah stated in Helen's right ear)
"I see, thanks for the heads-up, I will try not to ask you too many questions." :(Helen thanked Noah over the earpiece)
As Helen gave a big sigh only to be interrupted by a loud rumble in her stomach, seems like she was hungry. Helen looked around to see if there was food available, but there was nothing around except grass and trees with not fruit. After she realized there was no food available on the island she had to go back into the water.
"I will be going into the water to get some food; I hope I don't take too long." :(Helen stated to the AI named Noah over the earpiece)
"Tell me how you going do that Helen, you realized by now you float on top the water not under it." :(Voice of Noah stated in Helen's right ear)
"Well, I have no clue how I am going to do this, but I think I need to dive under the water." :(Helen explained as she got off the grass and headed for the ocean)
"Well, you are an idiot by that logic." :(Voice of Noah stated in Helen's right ear)
"Hey, that was uncalled for!" :(Helen replied with an angry tone as she tried to dive under water but only met by a strange force that keeping her above the water, she tried multiple attempts to dive under water but was not successful)
"Hmm, what if I try something else." :(Helen said to herself as she stopped for a brief moment as she sat on a nearby rock)
"So, what's your next plan Helen?" :(Voice of Noah asked the female humanoid over the earpiece)
"I think I going to try to summon my ship, I know its damaged but I need to see what type of ship I am." :(Helen explained as she closed her eyes)
Helen thought about summoning her ship when she was about to give up she thought one last time, suddenly she felt a nasty electrical discharge which caused her to close her eyes to protect them from going blind. After the shock subsided, she opened her eyes only to see her ship sitting on the water right in front of her. She noticed it was least 967.8 feet long and it was very tall, but she also felt a painful punch to the gut which cause her to lose her footing and fell on the sand she was standing on.
"Congrats on summoning your ship, apparently with your infinite wisdom summoned it shallow water which caused damage to the hull." :(Voice of Noah stated in Helen's right ear)
"Owww, you could have told me that before I summoned my ship!" :(Helen shouted as she got off the sand and looked at her ship)
"HOW WOULD I KNOW IF THE WATER WAS SHALLOW OR DEEP YOU IDIOT!" :(Voice of Noah shouted back at Helen over the earpiece)
"Okay, okay, I get it! Now help me figure out how to move this thing to deeper water before I cause more damage!" :(Helen pleaded while brushing sand off her clothes)
"Oh, NOW you want my help? What happened to 'I will try not to ask you too many questions'?" :(Voice of Noah replied sarcastically through the earpiece)
Helen rolled her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. The massive ship loomed before her, its hull scraping against the shallow seafloor. She could feel every scratch and bump as if they were happening to her own body.
[There has to be a way to control this thing properly. Maybe if I...] :(Helen's thoughts trailed off)
She closed her eyes again, this time focusing not on summoning the ship, but on connecting with it. A warm sensation spread through her body, starting from her chest and flowing outward to her fingertips.
"Oh, interesting. You're actually using your brain for once." :(Voice of Noah commented through the earpiece he was sounding genuinely impressed)
"Can you maybe NOT while I'm concentrating?" :(Helen grumbled, maintaining her focus)
Suddenly, Helen felt as if her consciousness had expanded. She could sense every inch of the massive vessel, from its bow to its stern. The damage to the hull sent sharp pains through her awareness, but she pushed through it. With a grinding sound that made Helen wince, the ship began to move. Slowly at first, then with increasing speed, it backed away from the shallow water. The relief was immediate as the hull cleared the seafloor, and Helen let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding.
"Well, would you look at that. The student becomes slightly less incompetent." :(Voice of Noah chuckled through the earpiece)
"I swear, Noah, one of these days..." :(Helen muttered as she opened her eyes to examine her handiwork)
The ship now floated properly in deeper water, its massive form casting a long shadow across the waves. Helen could see various weapons systems, radar arrays. She noticed the it had the number 43 on its superstructure.
"Hey, Noah?" :(Helen called out) "Yeah?" :(Voice of Noah responded over the earpiece)
"Do you know what model I am? And how old I am?" :(Helen asked Noah over the earpiece)
"Well, that is tricky question I have no clue what model or how old you are. It seems your ship had started to come together around 1944 and fully completed around 1946 which leads to me to concluded that your ship is 2 years old which is quite young, I am guessing you are also quite young. " :(Voice of Noah explained to Helen over the earpiece)
"I see, so I am 2 years old, and my ship is 2 years old. But that does not explain why am I here." :(Helen replied with a sad tone)
"That is something that will take time to figure out, but I am sure you will get answers one day, back to your stomach's symphony since. Since you've managed to successfully connect with your ship, why don't you try exploring it? You know, like a normal person would?" :(Voice of Noah suggested with his usual sarcastic ton" :(Voice of Noah reassured Helen over the earpiece)
Helen looked up at the towering hull of her ship, noticing a ladder leading up the side, as she climbed further, she noticed the ship is quite tall that won't stop her, Helen managed reach at the flight deck. She was amazed by how big her ship was, and she couldn't wait to explore it, she looked around for a map which she finally got one just laying on ground. But she was horrified that the map was not actually a map it was book with series of documents 18 pages long to be precise.
"Noah, why there is so many papers? There should be a map." :(Helen called Noah over the earpiece)
"I do not see what you talking about. I am clueless as you, if you show me what you are looking at. Meet me in yours ships island inside the bridge." :(Voice of Noah explained to Helen over the earpiece)
Helen headed into the ship which she was ill-prepared for as she encountered cramped rooms with no sign of direction to follow it took her couple of hours to even reach the bridge. By then she was fully starving, Helen walked up to console in side bridge when she pushed down on the buttons an Ai Hologram of male person appeared.
"So, this is Helen, glad to see you with my own eyes without me having watch you through a screen. Now what we doing here?" :(Voice of Noah stated in the hologram)
"Well, I have found some documents lying around on the flight deck and I need you to explain to me what they mean." :(Helen stated as she handed the book of documents to the Ai named Noah)
"Processing... Processing... Processing..." :(Voice of Noah said out loud as he was reading through the documents)
"So, what do you think about the documents?" :(Helen asked the AI named Noah)
"Complicated as always Helen. Processing... Processing... Processing..." :(Voice of Noah replied while he was still processing the documents)
"Hey, don't ignore me!" :(Helen shouted as she slammed her fist on the console which caused it to spark)
"Don't act like an easily frustrated lady here, this console which houses me is delicate and will break under your tantrums." :(Voice of Noah scolded Helen as the Ai Hologram looked clearly at her)
"I am sorry, but I can't help myself when you are ignoring me!" :(Helen apologized to the AI named Noah)
"I am not ignoring you; I am processing these documents." :(Voice of Noah replied while he was still processing the documents)
"Processing had been completed. This ship seems to be a Midway Class Carrier just what I predicated earlier, with all these documents now in my data stacks I now know which compartment is. I am uploading the full completed map on the blue screen you might see before, it should help you get around this maze you call a ship. I was only able to see what in the engineering compartments before" :(Voice of Noah explained to Helen as the hologram pointed at the blue screen)
As the Blue Screen reappeared in front of Helen she studied the blue screen, taking in the complex maze of corridors and compartments that made up her vessel. Her stomach growled again, more insistently this time.
"Now that we have a proper map, where exactly would I find food on this ship?" :(Helen asked while rubbing her stomach)
"The galley would be your best bet. Deck 2, frame 88. Though I should warn you... All perishable items seem to not be on this ship strangely enough but all the ordnances seem to be all in place and in good working order. I highly suggest that you transform into your engagement form." :(Voice of Noah explained as the hologram pointed at the location of the galley)
"Thanks for the heads-up, but I am not sure how to change into my engagement form, I will try it out." :(Helen thanked Noah as she closed her eyes, focusing on changing forms)
A blue screen appeared right in front Helen which readers, engagement mode on or off without hesitation she processed on button only for the blue screen to disappear. Helen felt a painful feeling as electricity rushed through her body, she felt heavier than normal, her eyes were closed to protect them from being blinded. Once the electricity stopped, she reopened her eyes and looked around only to see the island she landed on and the deep blue.
"Sorry to inform you, but we got approaching ships on the radar, the seem to be fishing class radar signatures. I suggest you get in the water now!" :(Voice of Noah exclaimed through the earpiece)
"Noah do you not understand I can't dive under water in my engagement form! I will stay float if I try!" :(Helen explained as she looked at the water)
