The month was November, the sky was blue with huge white clouds slowly drifting past behind Eric’s house, even tho the sky looked beautiful the weather was cold, trees without leaves and slight snow on the floor and roofs…
It was so close to Eric’s birthday and I hadn’t heard from him in a while so I called him hoping he would hopefully pick up.. it rang.. and rang but when I was about to give up I heard a voice.
It was Eric. I was so shocked but also happy. This is how our conversation went.

Well.. his birthday came and went without a word from him, I tried to call him to wish him a happy birthday but he didn’t pick up.

Before I knew it, it was New Years and I decided to take the chance to try calling him again but this time he actually answered. Our call went same old.. I asked him if we could hang out today since we didn’t get to hang out on his birthday or Christmas but instead he made excuses, he said “I was chilling with family and then went out for drinks with friends and now I’m working out a bit” I felt so angry that all I could do is squeeze my fist together, before hanging up he promised to take me on a date around mid January, that he will pay for everything and that I can pick out anything I want as a Christmas and New Years gift. Hearing that he finally planned a date made me perk up a bit and actually looked forward to it

I’m sitting in my dorm room on the floor, the sky is dark with the moon glowing bright. I’m contemplating if I should call him or not but as I sit here feeling more agitated and frustrated I gave in and called him. The phone rang 3 times and then he answered. This is the fastest he’s answered his phone. Is this a good sign? I guess not because the tone of his voice sounded purely irritated.. this is how it went

He hung up so fast I wasn’t even able to get a word in. The pure anger I felt. Rage filling up inside of me, Becky who was sitting on my bed behind me while painting her long nails looked at me, the words that came out her mouth put me into more anger, she told me that I needed to chill, chill? How could she say that. I looked up at her and raised my voice as I said “chill??! How are you going to tell me to chill, he doesn’t answer his text or calls and IF he does he always says he’s busy and I should just be okay with that?
The way Becky looked at me with a blank stare and blurted out “duh” caused me so much anger. I quickly stood up and shouted “No Iv had enough of this! How can you keep defending him? So you think him barely answering his texts or calls, constantly saying he is busy and always being out with his friends is normal? He’s not even telling me anything anymore”
Becky looked away beginning to blow on her wet painted nails as she spoke “dude you sound clingy look you guys have been together since you were like 15 or something and let’s face it you haven’t really spent a day without each other, have you ever thought that maybe now that he’s turned 19 that he would like to spend time with the guys, have fun and live a little without it having to be with you all the time? All I could do was look down at the floor, I told her she might be right but, she interrupted me when I said but, she told me she was right and that I needed to trust him that he will come running back once he’s done with his child’s play, still I couldn’t help but feel down. Becky started to walk towards my dorm room front door. I have two doors. The one that leads inside of the school which is blocked off when the school is not open and then the door that leads to the outside but only the first level floors facing the outta dorm have that. She starts to put on her shoes and tells me “ I should get going I’m going to be meeting a couple of people at “THE CLUB” I don’t want to be late” I was pretty saddened that I wasn’t invited but she told me that because I don’t like clubs why would she invite me plus that she had a date and didn’t want me to mess things up for her. After that she left leaving me alone in a unwell light room. I made my way towards my bed and sat down, It took me a few seconds till I realised something.
“The club? Isn’t that the club Eric said he was going? I felt like maybe I’m reading to much into this. Like it’s obviously a coincidence of course one of them would tell me if they were meeting up.. right? Like of course they would. Becky is going for a date and Eric is there for a mates birthday”
I looked over at my phone to check the time it was around 2:23am extremely late for a date or a birthday right? I mean we still had lessons in a few hours.
