“Kakashi and Itachi exchange blows, each being very proficient with the Sharingan. Itachi neutralises Kakashi with his Tsukuyomi. As Kakashi struggles to remain standing, he asks Itachi why he’s returned to Konoha. Itachi replies that they’re after Naruto, which Kakashi elaborates as meaning they want the Nine-Tails for their organisation, Akatsuki. Annoyed that Kakashi knows of their organisation, Itachi instructs Kisame to kill Asuma and Kurenai before bringing Kakashi to him so they can find out what else he knows of their group. Before Kisame can do so, Might Guy arrives. Itachi states that he did not go to Konoha to start a war, so he and Kisame left the battle.”

Analysis
This episode reveals a lot more about Kisame and Itachi.
Itachi has the Sharingan, but what makes it special is the genjutsu known as the Tsukuyomi. It can mess with the opponent’s mind. A lot of details concerning this genjutsu will probably be revealed in the other anime, Naruto Shippuden.
Itachi and Kisame are part of an organisation called Akatsuki. So far, we know they consist of rogue ninjas who are enlisted in the bingo book. The reason they came to the Hidden Leaf Village is that they are after Naruto, who possesses the Nine-Tailed Fox. Kakashi learned about the organisation through Jiraiya, since Jiraiya had been following Orochimaru. Orochimaru was part of the organisation, but it seems he left it. The reason why Orochimaru left the organisation is a mystery; hence, it will be revealed in the anime, Naruto Shippuden.
The Akatsuki don’t want anyone to know about them, hence why Itachi instructed Kisame to kill Asuma and Kurenai before bringing Kakashi to him so they could find out what else he knows about their group. The reason they want the Nine-Tailed Fox is a mystery. Could it be that they want to plan an invasion? The mystery concerning Akatsuki will be revealed in the other anime, Naruto Shippuden.
Kakashi plays an important part in this episode because we learn more about Itachi’s abilities and a lot more about the Akatsuki. Moreover, Might Guy is also an important character in this episode because he saves everyone from Itachi and Kisame. Therefore, the Akatsuki symbolise danger in the sense that they are looking for Naruto so that they can possess the nine-tailed fox. Moreover, Itachi proved to be extremely strong, and defeating Kakashi, who is also skilled, makes one question what other ninja abilities he possesses; hence, this Itachi character brings a lot of mystery to the episode.
Naruto is in danger. What will happen next? All of these questions will be answered in various episodes.
