I can remember a day full of pain;

When I was sad, my happiness went down the drain.

My dad went out to get our provision,

while my brothers and I had a division.

No one felt my ache inside;

Soon, my tears refused to hide.

Then a mother came and brushed the rain away,

Putting all my feelings on her tray.

And for that, God I praise,

Hoping that mothers bring love, light and pleasure for all their days
