“We are going to the coordinates, Bueno Island,” John typed something on the motherboard. “We will be there in ten minutes.” He loaded his belongings on the ship, he seemed like he had been preparing for this day for a very long time.
“How fast does this ship fly?” I asked him.
“Fast,” he said. “Remember when we get there, we need to move quickly! Is everyone strapped in?”
We all said yes.
John clicked two red buttons. We could feel shaking all around us and it felt like we were levitating off of the concrete blocks under the ship.
“Today your lives are all going to change, and you will understand in time that what you do today will save many!” John said.
Our bodies shook as the ship began to strongly vibrate.
“THIRTY, TWENTY-NINE…” Karen started counting down.
I turned back and looked at the glass case with the yellow and blue jewels. I could see that they were emanating in colorful waves even brighter than before.
“TWENTY-SIX, TWENTY-FIVE, TWENTY-FOUR, TWENTY-THREE…” she continued to count “...THREE, TWO, ONE, READY. COORDINATES TO BUENO ISLAND locked in, engaging…”
I took a deep breath and held onto the straps of the seat. The ship then blasted up through the house. Launching high into the sky, we looked down, and could see the remnants of what used to be John’s house. The house had been completely destroyed. John gazed down at it for a few moments. He let out a deep sigh. He then proceeded to move a gear forward and put the ship into drive. We took off, heading to Bueno Island.
Naomi gasped. “My car…”
