Be a prince or princess, a duke or duchess, or the heir of a powerful family. The heir has to be unhappy with taking on the throne or their family legacy. They runaway, new name, new past, guarded, and cold. They attend high school and are bullied terribly with no one knowing who they are. Until they meet someone special and they feel safe and understood for the first time since they were younger. Despite pushing the person away time and time again they are still here and aren’t willing to leave. Or are they? It’s up to you.

Must be at least 500 words or longer.

Can be set in a modern setting or an older setting, it’s up to you.

They don’t have to attend high school but I would prefer if they were high school to college student in age.

LGBTQIA+ and straight characters are welcome.

A few backstory ideas:

Abused secretly their entire life.

Picture perfect family cracking at the edges.

Upon finding out who they are, their lover contacts their parents for the money.

Rich mafia family heir who doesn’t want to kill or commit crimes.

First, I want to talk about how winner will be decided. This is gonna be based on most likes, because I don't want to choose one character or sub story over another.

I created a little world where anyth8ng can happen.

I love the world and some of the characters I made for it, but I don't know what I would do for a story or anything.

I thought this would be a fun way to build community by letting multiple people incorporate their own stories into the "canon" and introduce their own characters.

The winner and I (and probably a few others) will work together into turning this world and all added characters (with credits to their creators) into a cohesive storyline.

The world:

This world is based on one much like ours. However, there is a place where the lifeforce bleeds from the core of the planet, altering reality.

Humans that settles around this mako-charged volcano (I dunno what I want to call the planet's lifeforce here. FFXII) wound up gaining elemental powers depending on where in the ring of power they loved.

This ring is the radius around the volcano where every habitat seems to exist with no real explanation. There's a swamp, desert, casm, jungle, forest, rivers, a large, glistening lake, lava plain, and just about any other environmental habitat you could dream of, downsized to dwell in this one corner of the world.

Humans mutate into anthropomorphic animals so connected to a specific element or other aspect of nature unrelated to fauna, that they gain powers and their looks are altered to match. Kind-of like quirks in My Hero Acedamia crossed with Sonic the Hedgehog, crossed with Avatar the Last Airbender.

Let's keep this available to everyone in language and spirit. I'm making it PG so we don't entirely have to avoid violence or interesting suspenseful problems in our stories, just please avoid gore in this one (as much as I love gore) and keep away from any... OTHER topics that aren't suitable to younger/family audiences. Keep swearing at a minimum too, please.

[Ryo Vyce [Real World Name: Robert], sat in front of his computer, staring at the screen as he navigated the virtual game known as Second World. There you could live out a whole new life. Be who you wanted to be. In this place is where he had met EmmaluKa [Real World Name: Emilia] and they had hit it off immediately. Between them he calls her by her real name. After a while of hanging out together he knew he was falling for her. But this digital space was full of complicated social hierarchies, complex dynamics, and virtual segregation, which eventually made it a struggle for them to be together. Ryo knew that he wanted something more than a casual relationship with her but her popularity among other avatars made that very difficult. He had learned that she loved to sing. However, he couldn't help but feel a growing feeling of worry and unease. She was constantly surrounded by talent agents and fans. "How? How can I tell her how I feel? I’m… I’m nobody special." He taps his fingers in front of his computer wondering just how he would win her over. He knew that he had to tell her how he truly felt, but the thought of rejection made his heart race and his stomach flutter. Suddenly a virtual invitation pops up on his screen. It was from her, a message from EmmaluKa. 🌷“I’m going to sing tonight at the Cutey Patooty Club. It’s my first time. Pretty please… be there Ryo. I’ll be lookin for ya, 😉​​​​​​​😉 😂lol 😝.” This was his chance. Ryo’s eyes opened wide. That was such an exclusive club he thought. It was the best opportunity to tell her. But when Ryo logged on and warped to the location, he realized that there was a large crowd. He wasn’t able to get to her. A moderator of the club looked at his VIP ticket from EmmaluKa, looked at his average avatar body and said, “Ha, you? A VIP member? Yeah right. You go over there buddy with EVERYONE else!” Ryo was furious. As her show concluded, he could only watch her from afar, noticing how one exclusive VIP member kept flirting and chatting with her throughout the night. Ryo’s heart dropped in his chest, he felt defeated and wondered if he should just log off and call it a night.]​​​​​​​
