As the teardrop fell to the ground, Shella noticed that the ground beneath her was shaking. She opens her eyes and to her amazement the intense pain in her head, the throbbing headache, and the ringing in her ears was gone. Shella could feel the vibrations coming from all directions. At first, she was frightened but soon as the shaking diminished, Shella started to calm herself down.
Out of frustration, she rubs her eyes because everything she looked at was out of focus. Soon after, she notices improvement in her vision. As the blurry vision cleared up, Shella lifted her head and got up from the ground. She was getting sick and tired of the constant random episodes of pain she was getting in her head. As soon as she got herself up from the ground, wondering why she no longer felt any pain, once again she could see flashes of light invade her mind. She immediately closed her eyes; she knew that these were the strange visions she was seeing repeatedly. The more she saw it the more she started to comprehend, to a certain degree, what she was seeing. ¿ ̈s̈ov̈.ë̈l̈eïd iuẗ̈ n̈ẗwos ̈̈r̈̈ü̈ n̈ our̈ ̈h n̈̈ ä̈hs ke up ̈ärs rmẗ ẗë ëh ẗ̈̈̈ m̈ rd ö̈ëhmnT̈ün̈ẗ̈̈aratherä ̈̈̈̈ep̈̈̈̈r̈̈r̈̈sn̈̈ ta ̈hdownwi¿. But it was still difficult for her to fully know exactly what was flashing in her mind.
The longer she wandered around, the more questions she had. However, none of her questions have yet been answered. Shella found herself in a small plain gray room. It was dark and depressing. There was minimal light. There was nothing much to be found in the room. Not a single object in sight. The girl named Luti and the labyrinth with dozens of long corridors was gone. This only added to Shella’s frustration.
As Shella scanned around, she looked to her right. She was cautious of her new surroundings due to the things she had already seen and heard. She decides to put her defenses up and keep herself alert. But nothing around in that room seems to scare her. It was a calm empty simple space, a very small, and insignificant space. Right away she tilts her head in confusion. Something caught her eye. As she looked to her right she could make out a simple old-looking wooden door in the distance and a large cube-shaped stone. Someone was sitting there, on the cube. A few feet from the cube were a square hole in the ground.
Shella couldn’t believe it at first. She gulps down hard and starts to walk forward toward the person. As soon as she got closer the ground once again began to shake. Each shake didn’t last too long. But it was enough to get Shella’s attention. She looked around hoping that the floor beneath her didn’t swallow her up or a wall would collapse on top of her. All these thoughts kept racing in her head as she cautiously approached the person sitting on the large cube made of stone. That’s when Shella heard the muffled screams of someone. It was faint but the sound was reverbing all around the walls of the small room. At this point Shella was no longer surprised with the things she was seeing and hearing. It only added more fuel to the flames of her curiosity. She needed to know why all these things were happening around her and why she could not recall what the last thing she was doing before she got to this strange world she found herself in.
As Shella looks around because of the screams she could hear, she finally approaches the unknown person sitting on the large cube. The large cube-shaped stone had strange images of human brains engraved all over it. Shella wondered what that was all about but instead decided to shift her focus on the person sitting on top of it. She hoped that the person wasn’t anything like that girl Luti she met before. She was wondering if that person was going to get up and run away too or even start fighting Shella for no reason like that first girl Rubi.
As Shella got closer, it was a girl sitting on top of the cube, staring into nothing. She was looking down on the floor with an expressionless look. She didn’t react at all to Shella approaching her. Shella raises her fist and places it in front of her mouth. “Cough…. Hello….?” Shella pretends to clear her throat to get the girl's attention.
Shella still had her guard up; she was expecting any moment for something strange to happen. But it was calm and quiet. Nothing around her was eerie. To Shella, the girl didn’t seem like a threat, for now at least. Nothing around her felt odd, off putting, and dangerous. The only thing was the brains engraved on the cube. Other than that, Shella finally felt relaxed after being worried, stressed, and anxious for a long time. But Shella knew better than to drop her guard. She felt a strange sensation being in that place. She somehow sensed a familiarity to the environment around her. It was almost as if she had a deep emotional attachment to that room, like she had already been there before. But nothing came to mind when she looked around and then back at the mysterious person. No true memories of ever coming to such a place came to her mind.
The girl turns her head slowly to look at Shella after Shella coughed and said ‘hello’. Shella thought the girl would say something, but she didn’t. She still had an expressionless look on her face. This confused Shella. She felt an awkwardness over the whole situation with the girl not saying a single word. But Shella wanted answers. She decided to start the conversation first, even though it made her anxious to start conversations with someone she didn’t know very well.
“M-my name is….. S…”
“ᛗ - ̈Ië.a..̈nlS̈̈̈s̈̈ḧ̈k̈…̈̈.…̈l̈Ÿ̈̈̈̈ h ̈S̈e…̈ï̈gwo.” Psyëfami Translation
The girl seemed bored and uninterested. Before Shella could even introduce herself, the girl said Shella’s name, turned her head back to face the ground and didn’t say another word.
Shella decided to wait a few seconds before responding. “Uhh, look, I-I never met you before? but…. Please, please, I need help. I need to know exactly what is going on. What is this place? Do you know? I was just inside an endless labyrinth. Now, I am here somehow. None of this..…ma…k…..”
Immediately Shella’s voice trails off. She didn’t notice this, but the girl had a red stone on her forehead and red eyes, just like Luti and Rubi, the two other girls that Shella had already met. It just dawned on her, at that very moment, that the girl had the same features as well. Shella was so focused on her problem that she never noticed it before as she approached her sitting on the large cube made of stone.
“Uhmmm, why…. Why do you have that?” Shella points to her forehead, trying not to be rude. “The stone, the red stone on your forehead. Lu-Luti, a girl I met and Rubi. They…. They both had that same stone too. Are you all friends? Do… Do you all know each other? I am so confused.”
The girl turned her head and looked at Shella once again with no expression on her face.

Shella could instantly feel the sorrow in her words as soon as the girl spoke. It really caught her off guard. It made Shella emotional to think about the girl's words. Not what she said, but how she said it. Although her eyes and her face were emotionless, Shella could feel every word hit her profoundly as if the words were coming from her own mouth. It almost felt like Shella was speaking those same exact words and saying them to someone else. Shella took a step back from how emotional she felt after the girl finished speaking.
“Uhmm, oh…. I am….. I am s-so sorry. Whatever you are going through. I am very sorry. I did not mean to cause you any harm. I am just…. I am lost. I just want to go home. Please….” The girl turns her body while sitting on the large cube and points behind her to the door.

As soon as Shella found out she could leave using the door she was about to take off with a big smile on her face. But something held her back from making a mad dash over there and leaving that girl behind. Shella was curious. She now wanted to know something else.
Something was bothering her. So she spoke up again. “But…. Why not use that door yourself to leave this place?”

Shella shakes her head and decides that the best option is to respect the girl’s wishes and just leave her alone. Shella could feel how consumed by sorrow she was. But Shella had no right to pry into her life and start asking a million questions even though her curiosity was burning deep inside her.
Shella sighs and makes her way to the large wooden door that was behind the girl. “Hopefully this is it and I can finally head home and talk to grandpa. She seems trustworthy. Something is off but I think everything will be…. ”
Just as Shella approaches the door and she is in mid thought, she places her hand around the handle of the old-looking wooden door. ¿ ̈s̈ov̈There.ë̈l̈eïd iuẗ̈ n̈ẗwos ̈̈r̈̈ü̈ n̈ our̈ ̈h n̈̈ ä̈hs ke up ̈ärs rmẗ ẗë ëh ẗ̈̈̈ m̈ rd ö̈ëhmnT̈ün̈ẗ̈̈aratherä ̈̈̈̈ep̈̈̈̈r̈̈r̈̈sn̈̈ ta ̈hdownwi¿. Shella saw it once again. It was the flashes of light and the vision she saw several times before. At that moment, another short quake shakes the ground beneath them and another muffled scream could be heard echoing throughout the chamber. It interrupted Shella’s train of thought. “What? Another quake and…. that scream again.” She looked up and wondered what the shaking and the screams were all about.
“M….Mani…… I-I have to know.” Shella slowly took her hand off the handle of the door. Something seeped into her mind. It was the girl’s name. “I have to know, Mani.” Shella whispers to herself. She took a step back away from the door. She was shocked. She turned her head around and looked back at the girl who was sitting on the large cube. At that very moment, Shella felt a strange connection to her. She turned around and immediately dashed back to the girl.
“Mani! Your name is Mani. A-and…. I have to know. I need to know. Now that you mentioned it, I need to know what you have to do. What do you need to do to leave? Please... Can you tell me?” The girl turns her head slowly to look at Shella, with tears still in her eyes.
Shella’s heart was pounding in her chest. She felt like she knew this girl, like she could feel an emotional connection with her.

Shella felt the pain in her voice when she said those final words. Shella gulps down some air and tries to hold back some tears. She felt the familiarity of her words, it was as if Shella had spoken those words before in her life, maybe even thought about the same train of thought. Shella’s lips began to tremble. “D…Do not say that! Do not speak that way about yourself. I am sure there are lots of people in your life….. that care about you.”
Shella’s eyes begin to swell up with tears. One drop then another began rolling down her cheek. Shella refused to wipe them away.
“Mani, can I….. Can I give you a hug?” The girl named Mani lifts her head and looks deeply into Shella’s eyes. Mani pushes herself off the large stone, standing in front of Shella, she looks down to the ground trying to avoid eye contact, feeling unsure of the gesture. Her eyes then begin swelling up with tears as well.

Shella did not hesitate. Even before the girl could say the word ‘fine’, Shella jumped forward toward Mani and embraced her tightly. As soon as Shella did that, she felt as if she was hugging a very close family member, someone she had known for years. Shella couldn’t explain the sensation. Her heart was pounding in her chest. But instead of asking questions she decided for once, that the best course of action would be to show love and kindness. The girl Mani felt awkward and embarrassed at first, but soon, after feeling Shella’s warmth and experiencing her kindness, decided to drop her guard, ignoring whatever anxiety and awkwardness she felt. Tears began to fall to the ground from both Shella and Mani.
“I will help you…. Mani. I can help you. Y-you are not alone. And I care about you.”
Shella and Mani stop embracing and wipe the tears from their eyes and face. Shella’s eyes began to glow red intensely. She walked around the stone and began to push the large cube with all her might in the direction of the large square-shaped hole in the ground.
Shella grits her teeth as the intensity of the glow in her eyes increases. The stone begins to move. And that caught Mani’s attention.

Inch by inch the stone moved forward toward the hole in the ground. And as soon as the stone was positioned on top of the hole, the stone itself began to glow a red color.
“It’s glowing r-red…. Mani, like your eyes.” Shella whispers while wondering what was going to happen next. But as soon as Shella turned around, the girl was gone. Mani was nowhere to be found.
“Mani! Hey! Where did you….. Where did you go?” Shella turns to her left and to her right. All she could see was the glowing stone. She was confused until a faint whisper could be heard in her ear.

Shella turns the handle and walks through the door.
