I used to be somebody who hated sin

but when you're made of glass you're easy to break

I used to think I needed everything

but I feel just fine suturing my wounds with hate.

I'm not ashamed to say I wanted to be the smartest

I'm not ashamed to say I wanted to be the prettiest

but it was just because I was in love with this world

and I wanted to give it my best.

I'm not ashamed to say I'd give it a thousand tries

I'm not ashamed to say I'd reach for the sky

but it was just because I was in love with this world

and I wanted to give it my best.

But I couldn't be the kind of person I was aiming to be

and so the world didn't love me back.

Now I have guilt in my heart and pain in my stomach

'cause people are evil and my future is rotten

'cause chances are thrown and God is forgotten.

I just wanted to be a good daughter

I felt guilty for Jesus' slaughter

but it was just because I was in love with this world

and I wanted to give it my best.
