I've had a bad year

in a hard life

I've had what I wanted

and I threw it away

I guess I was ill

I guess it's alright

everybody's hit the bottom

and made some mistakes.

When I was a teenager I rebelled against this shit

but the anger burnt my throat and it made me sick

the hate burnt down my throat and I couldn't speak.

Sometimes I wonder if you'd have protected me

Taught me what I didn't know, beaten up all the girls

'cause they pick on me, oh they pick on me

'cause I'm a freak, yeah I'm a freak.

I've been disappointed

more than a few times

I've had what I wanted

and I gave it away

but I swear I was ill

baby it's alright

I've never been innocent

it's more than you can claim.
