Nico
It was the next day now, I was able to get some sleep last night. Today was another day on earth. But now we found "Curly Girl", and meeting her did not go as I expected. She did not seem one bit scared or even one bit interested. Now I had to spend a whole day with her! Ugh, was I the only one taking this thing seriously, cause it surely feels like it. I walked past Ty and Kassen sleeping on their bed and got ready for the day. I wanted to wander a bit around the camp before grabbing breakfast.
I walked out of the cabin and just walked around seeing what was going on. There were only a couple of kids up. Today was our first day of school here, so it seemed like everyone else was sleeping well before a long day. I couldn't sleep that long though, we had so much to do, and we needed to stay focused. I was still shaken about "Curly Girl", we weren't supposed to get attached to any humans, but we were supposed to learn more about them, so I guess she could be helpful. But I wasn't counting on it, I don't think we really get along. Speak of the devil, there she was walking out of her cabin, she was wearing a big black and white sweatshirt with her curly hair down. It was kinda weird seeing her fully now since I spent all my time wondering who she was and what she looked like. She then saw me but didn't seem too happy about it, same. Then her cabin mate walked out and she started looking at me too, then she was talking to Linen and clearly asking about me. I just turned away, I needed to make sure the guys were awake.
I walked back to the cabin, and luckily the guys were up and getting ready. I took this as my chance to finish packing up my backpack, with my stuff for the school day. "Are you guys nervous about school?" It was Ty asking this, he was always a nervous and careful friend, definitely a lot smarter and less careless than Kassen." Uh not really, It can't be that hard right?” I said, I mean it's school, it's not the easiest but It isn't that bad. " I don't care, I just want food," Kassen said. "Agreed," I said back, I definitely need food before my brain is gonna be able to work. We all agreed and walked to the cafeteria, which was filled with hungry kids.
It was like a pack of wolves in there. "Ha, you guys are gonna need help getting through this mess, follow me." It was Linen, she gestured her hand and we followed her through the many kids. It was a lot more full than the past days. She led us to the line and handed us trays. "Uh, Thank you," I said. "You're welcome, I could've noticed the look from anywhere. I like to call it the "I'm New Here" look." She said laughing. She seemed like she had been here awhile. We moved through the line grabbing pancakes, syrup, and milk. A simple small school breakfast. We then walked back through the pack of kids to try and find a table. When Linen's roommate I saw earlier came up to her and they started saying something, Then I saw Linen roll her eyes and say fine, like she couldn't be more annoyed. "Ugh, Amy is forcing me to sit with you guys," she said plopping down on the table seat. " I guess that's fine," I said. The other guys didn't say anything, so I guess it was fine with them too. " So today is you guy's first day at school here on earth?" Linen asked, taking a bite of her cereal. “Umm, yeah" I answered looking down at my pancake.
" I still can't believe that you guys are perfect, you seem nothing near perfect to me!" Linen said crossing her arms, and there she was the Linen we met last night the mean, bullying, sassy one. "Well, that's great to hear!" I said sarcastically. Then a bell rang, "Well that was quick" Ty said picking up his tray. We grabbed them and put them in the tray slot. " What's your guy's schedule?" Linen asked as we squeezed out of the lunchroom. " Umm let me check," I said, pulling out the piece of paper the principal had given us. The guys followed too going through their backpacks and grabbing their papers. Linen then leaned over and peered over to see them. "So we have homeroom, every day. Let me see who you guys have" she said looking at the names on our list. " Ok, Ty it seems you have Ms. Allison the art teacher. Wait, Amy!" She said tapping on her friend's shoulder. "Ty has the same homeroom as you, can you take him there?" She said " Sure! Nice to meet you Ty, follow me" Amy said holding her hand to shake his. Then they both walked away. "Ok, Kassen you have Mr. Stanford the gym teacher. Do you know where the Gym is?" She asked, she was being so nice to us given the fact that we all really didn't get off on the right foot. "Yeah, Thanks," Kassen said. "Ok, and Nico you have Ms. Jackson, I have her too so just follow me, "She said, leading the way.
We then walked through the camp and passed a couple of cabin-like buildings. Finally, we made it to a building that also looked like a cabin but a bit bigger and we walked through the door. I had arrived at my first class of the day, "Homeroom", whatever that meant. " Good Morning! You are free to pick wherever you want to sit but choose wisely because that will be your seat for the rest of the year," the teacher said. I looked around at the seating options, there was one table empty so I decided to sit there. " I see my table has been infiltrated." It was Linen, she took off her backpack, set it down by her side, and sat down on the seat across from me. "Am I supposed to be scared?" I said, kind of laughing, Gosh Nico.
"You should be," she said back, sarcastically. "I'm gonna pass around some paper, it will have our question for the day," said Ms. Jackson as she passed around the papers for the day. She came over to our table and said " Nico you don't have to do the question today since it's about how everyone has been feeling through the school year and since you're new, you don't have to answer it." She then gave Linen a paper and walked away. Now I was kind of curious about what was on the paper. I saw Linen pull out her pencil case that had blue flowers over it, grab a pencil, and start scribbling kind of furiously on her paper.
I just started looking around the room observing the classroom. It was a home ec class, so it kind of looked like an art room but less schooly if that's a word. There was a big metal sink, wood tables, blue walls, wood cabinets, and a door leading to another room that seemed to have a mini kitchen. The teacher came back around and Linen handed her the paper. "Ok the rest of class you have time to finish your homework which you should have done but if you haven't do it now and just make sure you have everything ready for your next classes," Ms. Jackson said loudly.
"Can I see you're scheduled again? I want to make sure you're able to make it to your next period" Linen said, Why is "Curly Girl" being so nice? "Uh, yeah sure," I said, as I grabbed it back out of my backpack and handed it to her. I watched her as she scanned it, she started making this face like she couldn't be more shocked or annoyed, or maybe that was just her resting face? "Umm, what's wrong?" I asked, hoping she wasn't about to jump me. "Uh, we have the same classes," she said, sounding shocked. "What?" I asked, that can't be. "We have the exact classes and schedule!" she blurted, sounding like she was about to cry or punch me in the face. This keeps getting crazier.
