Motor cough, engine roar

I don't know how long we've been driving for.

Feet on dashboard, jaded sigh

Beginning to think my life's a lie.

On the run, our spoiler's gone

In this game I'm just a pawn.

Scratched-up paint, broken headlight,

Running far away from a bad fight.

Loud silence, noiseless screams

Look at us, just burning dreams.

Wind in hair, sad look in eye

We are both far from fine.

Look up, see a glow

From an elaborate, glitzy light show.

Point like a child, smile with delight,

Here we can stop for the night.

Drive around, see the flash,

A city designed to waste your cash.

Shitty casino, cheap bar

A bad place to park a car.

Just one bet, just one drink

At least that's what we think.

Drunk gamble, bad bet

We haven't run out of money yet.

Many bets lost, so few won,

One more bad bet and we're done.

Quarter machine, fever dream,

Poof! In the morning,

Our car and cash are nowhere to be seen.
