I am Brandy... and I adore my owner Nicole. She treats me, feeds me... it all... We walk the daily walk around HIGHLAND RIVER every morning.... I love the sound of nature; the scent of new smells I’ve never smelled before; even the scent of other dogs... I am a big dog myself; but adore little dogs - like the JACK RUSSELL TERRIER and the MALTESE Terrier. I love seeing them... I think their owners fear me because of my giant size...
WOOF. I see another GERMAN SHEPHERD like myself... the GERMAN SHEPHERD does not WOOF back... That is odd... I love communicating with my own kind... why doesn’t this one? My owner stops to say HELLO to its owner. The owner is a college friend of my owner...

I mean I have new scents I want to smell... new things to sniff... things to catch like lizards down HIGHLAND RIVER... But I put up with NICOLE’s talking. But suddenly - the owner’s GERMAN SHEPHERD growls at me... I am shook... what the... it growls at NICOLE... No... No.. I won’t let it hurt my NICOLE... I growl back...
(MEANWHILE - NICOLE and the OWNER are shook. The OWNER yells at her GERMAN SHEPHERD to stop)

The dog bites NICOLE again... I’ve had enough... I rage... I bite the hell out of that GERMAN SHEPHERD: to protect my owner from being harmed... no one hurts my NICOLE... I am a protective dog breed and I will do what I must to protect my owner who feeds me, looks after me, and loves me.... I will exchange my love and protection to her...
(THE GERMAN SHEPHERD cries and runs off with her OWNER. NICOLE bends down to BRANDY; shocked by the dog incident; and holds her injured hand)

Nicole and I walk home... How could another GERMAN SHEPHERD hurt a human... We were bred to be protectors. We’re police dogs... We sniff out drugs and help our policemen catch criminals. We’re not violent. Or at least some of us dogs are. Like humans and owners; there are some good dogs and some violent dogs... But I will always treasure my owner NICOLE. And protect her with my doggy heart...
