After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Esther groaned as the sound of the alarm reached her ears. She got out of bed and knelt by the side of it. Saying her morning prayers she ended it with an Amen and begrudgingly walked into the room of her siblings, the faint sound of their snorings filled the room with a gentle echo.
She watched them silently in the dark, the dim light that shone through the curtains bounced off their faces, defining their every feature. She smiled as she walked towards Naomi and nudged her gently. The little girls eyes opened slightly, staring back at Esther. "Come on, it's time to go to creche" Esther whispered. Naomi nodded obediently and got out of bed. Going over to wake the rest of her siblings; Isiah and Thomas .
An hour later, Esther was walking out the door hand-in-hand with her siblings. The creche was a road away and as they neared it Esther involuntarily gulped at the daggers Mama Sandra shot at her. She crouched down to the children by her side, kissed each of them on the cheek and wished them goodbyes. They all giggled and ran into the little building leaving the two woman outside. Esther forced a smile on her face paying no heed to her racing heart "Good...Good morning."
"Please explain to me what is good about this moring?"
"..." Esther said nothing but avoided eye-contact
"No please tell me. I really want to know." There was a long pause before Mama Sandra exhaled "Where is my money?"
Esther cleared her throat "Mommy said she is going to pay you at the end of the month. I promise we'll bring your money"
Mama Sandra's face scrunched up "That's what you said last month"
"Y-Yes but I ..." A layer of sweat began to grow on her forehead
"Where is your mother?"
"My mother?" Esther looked alarmed
"No. Not your mother. Your grandfather.
"Oh." Ester sighed "My grandfather's dead"
"Don't play jokes with me. If you want to be a clown go to a circus. Where is your mother"
"She's... I she's" Ester struggled to get the right words out of her mouth
" She's where?"
"She went to work"
"Rubbish!!"
"What?"
"I said RUBBISH. You're lying. You and that your stupid mother think I am a fool. You know what. I won't waste my time on you. When you see that woman you call your mother tell her that I said she should pay my money or I would show her who is the real fool in this community. RUBBISH!"
The door slammed in Esther's face and a lone tear escaped her eyes. She wiped it away turned around and walked to school as if nothing had just taken place.
2 hours later
"Hey gyals!!!" Esther yelled as she came across her girl-friends. They looked up at her and smiled.
"Hellooooooo" Rebecca yelled back, standing up to engulf Esther in a tight hug. Esther's eyes widened as they landed on Rebecca's red hair.
"Are you allowed to wear this colour hair to school?"
"Pleasssssssee. Since you've decided to crown yourself the hair-dye police officer. Don't come and destroy my mood"
"Rebel" Esther stated
"Thank you. Leave me like that. Did I come and complain to you?" Rebecca folded her arms defiantly
"Hello" Jane replied with a wave and a grin
"Hi" replied Anna with a small, kind smile
When Rebecca decided to release Esther, they smiled at each other and sat down together "How are you guys" Ester asked
"We're good" answered Rebecca enthusiasticly "Like how can't I be. I'm a celebrities wife. I'm living my life king size."
"If you always have so much energy every single day your husband will run away from you, he'll thing you're on drugs"
Rebecca rolled her eyes"Stop talking nonsense.Or else I'll tell my husband to get you arrested.
"He wouldn't dare. I'm his boss. And if I want I can tell him to divorce you and he'll do it"
"How dare you. Just wait. I won't invite you to my second wedding."
"It's fine I dont want to come. They'll probably serve the guests peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the main meal and I have enough of that at home"
"Do you see how mean you are to me." Rebecca put a pout on her face
"You're the one that said you were going to get me arrested"
Rebecca gasped"Whennnnn??"
"GUYS!!!"Everyone turned to look at Jane. "I'm depressed" she said
"Why?" Enquired Esther
"I got detention" Jane stated, Rebecca burst out in laughter and Esther nudged her
"Don't be rude" Esther said to Rebecca before she turned to Jane "Why do you have detention?"
"Because I came 5 minutes late to school. Imagine that!"
"Aww shame. But you should be happy others got suspended for coming late." Rebecca burst out in laughter holding onto her tummy as she doubled over. "You shouldn't even be lauguing. You're one of the who deserve detention. I don't even know how they allow you on the school premises with that hair"
"Vibe killer" muttered Rebecca
Esther rolled her eyes at Rebecca with a smile on her face and turned to Anna."How you doing "
"I'm fine" Anna said in her light tone
"Why are you always so quiet?" Anna smiled and shrugged.
"Did you all study for your test? They said there's an Economics test coming up and I'm actually really nervous" Esther asked
"I didn't start studying yet but I'll start later on" Jane replied
Esther turned to Rebecca and saw that something else had caught her attention "Rebbie what you looking at"
"Your hubbie is with another girl"
"WHAT! WHERE!" Esther screamed
"There..." Rebecca pointed
"Oh my word. I'm going to slap her face. Nooo! Why is he smiling at her." Esther scrunched up her face "Eewh. Did he buy a new bag? I hate the colour". Ester turned to Rebecca and she shrugged, her attention still solely on the boy.
"You guys are living in Lala land. A complete fantasy. If you like the boy just go talk to him instead of stalking him from afar" Jane said matter-of-fact
"That's not how things work, Jane. You can't just go up to the guy. The guys should come up to us" Rebecca said
"Exactly" Esther said in agreement "And it's not called stalking. It's called observing"
"What's wrong with going up to the guy and talking to him..." Jane tried saying
"Stop talking you're polluting Anna's innocent mind" Esther scolded. Jane rolled her eyes and Anna chuckled before the bell rang. Anna left with Rebecca and Esther walked to class with Jane.
"You know that boy that you always stalk during break"
"Not stalk. Observe"
"Yeah. Observe. whatever."
"Yes what about him"
"He came to me during interval and told me I should speak to you on his behalf."
"What?!"
"Yeah. He said he liked you and that you should meet up with him afterschool. I didn't wanna tell you while the others were here because I didn't want Rebecca to hear"
"Why not?"
"Why are you so naive. Don't you see how Rebecca looks at him. She obviously likes him"
"You don't know what you're talking about"
"Ok. If that's what you think. Just meet up with the dude afterschool ok."
"Ok" Esther was hesitant to speak to the guy. She hadn't really meant all those things she had said about liking him. Yes,he was cute but the only reason she had done it because she found it entertaining to pick a random boy and ship herself with him.
And plus she wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend. But was there harm in just going to talk to him? No. Not at all.
That's how she found herself in front of the boy she had been eyeing from afar. "Hey" she said timidly to him and he stared back at her as if she had jumped off of a spaceship
"Hello" he sized her from top to bottom and he must have found nothing interesting for his lifeless gaze connected with her eyes once again "Yes. Can I help you?"
"No." Esther said. His brow raised and Esther gulped "No you can't help me" Esther shifted from one leg to another as she felt her akward side kicking in. "Can I help you?"
"I'm not the one blocking your way" he replied, looking bored and uninterested.
"Oh I'm sorry I'm just..." Esther inhaled, feeling herself drown in anxiety."Someone told me that you wanted to see me" He glanced over her shoulder and he suddenly froze. Esther, misinterpreting his reaction for recognition, carried on "Her name is Jane"
"Yeah"
"You remember me? You said you wanted to see me"
"Oh yes." Esthers heart leaped out of her chest at his recognition of her but as she looked up at him she realised he wasn't focused on her but he was more focused on something behind her "Nice talking with you. okay. It was really nice. But I have to go" He passed by her and she turned around to see what could have been more important than she was. As she turned she saw the silhouette of a girl and a flash of red hair. A very familiar girl. But Esther could not lay a finger on who it could be, for the girl ran up the stairs moving from Esther's view followed by the boy Esther thought had liked her. But here he was right in front of her running after another girl.
With the little ego that remained in her soul she turned around and walked out the school gates with the thought that boys were jerks and she didn't need them in her life.
As she neared the creche and her eyes landed on her siblings that stood waiting by the door. A thought came to her mind. The only person with red hair in that whole school was Rebecca and the silhouette of the girl by the stairs, Esther had caught a glimpse of red hair on the girls head. So does that mean.
Could it be that ...

Esther contemplated marching back to school and finding out who that girl had been but by then her siblings had already been running towards her. Gabriella fast asleep in her arms;hungry and tired expecting the rest of the day at home.
