Since that day, Nikolas has been coming to my house three hours before night school started. At first, I started to feel guilty because he would have to wake up early, but he told me that he only sleeps to pass the time. When he comes over he’d show me the magic that he’s learning. Nikolas tells me how to cast the spell and what to do with my hands by guiding me with his own. Tonight, he was trying to teach me how to change water into ice.

I tossed and turned in my bed, failing to fall asleep. My mind has been racing with horrible thoughts, thoughts that Nikolas doesn’t want to be friends anymore. I checked my phone to see if he would contact me. Seeing the green icon on my screen made my heart leap, but it wasn't Nikolas.
