A Squire's Mini Epic

"A Squire's Epic"

There was a Squire from peaceful Dururan.

He sought to create his own house

Where Kobolds made camp,

Where the Rodur Lake sits.

Yet he could not achieve this alone.

He sought alliance with any guild

And any man willing fight.

Yet he found none willing.

He traveled back to peaceful Dururan,

Of where he had trained,

And sought the aid of the peaceful folk.

They declined, and so the Squire

Went to the underground Garlok

And sought the aid of the peaceful Dwarves.

They declined, because they knew war

And told the Squire that war would follow

A Kobold massacre.

And so the Squire had declined himself

As others had done.

So he resided at the mansion,

Of where he had trained,

And sought wisdom of the Elven Lady.

The Lady told the Squire to not lose hope.

She had a cousin, the Mistress, who could aid him.

The Squire lightened,

And his confidence returned.

The Mistress resided in Kurdoklur,

As many Elves had,

So the Squire made the journey.

He completed the trip,

And sought the aid of the Elven Mistress.

She accepted,

But only after days of the Squire's patience.

The two set siege to the Horgurrek Kobold camp,

And spilled much blood.

The battle was bloody,

But no blood of Human nor Elf was spilled.

The two then attracted a smith,

Then a baker, an apothecary, and farmers.

The two were to part ways,

But the Mistress grew fond of the squire.

So, the Mistress and her Squire had married,

The first Human-Elf marriage since Conczev'Juli,

And they resided in Horgurrek,

Their new home.

But the Squire's story did not end, not yet.

He was called to Dururan,

Of where he had trained,

After so much time,

To battle Kobolds at war.

Dwarves refused to aid the Elves and Humans

Because Kobolds were their allies.

The Squire left his wife,

The Elven Mistress,

Pregnantwith their daughter at Horgurrek,

Their home.

The Mistress sent many a letter

To Dururan's frontline,

Sve'mort'raska,

Where her Squire was,

But no letter was replied to.

A winter had passed,

And the Mistress' daughter was born,

Whom she named A'ieula,

In homage to the twin Ar'ieul mountains

In Dururan, the Squire's old home.

The Squire never returned,
