Art is by its very nature a form of emotional manipulation.
You share your creations because you want to matter
You want to create emotional responses in another,
if in no other way than to force them to care about the characters and/or plot you invent.
But still, don't we write for connection? what I hate, what I hate most
Is the argument that commenting about my life
Albeit the more traumatic aspect of it, but still my life
Qualifies as being emotionally manipulative.
It encourages me to hide away, stop reading altogether because
Nobody wants to hear what I have to say
