Last week, our class had a once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity to visit the Thompson Art Gallery, and it was an amazing opportunity for all of us.
The gallery was filled with vibrant paintings, sculptures and installations that reflected various artists' thoughts and creativity. Walking through the gallery felt like stepping into different worlds.
One of the most striking pieces we encountered was a landscape painting, a starry sky that used bold colours, unique shapes and textures to express a powerful emotion. Although the meaning was not clear at first, our guide explained how artists wanted viewers to interpret the piece in their way. This taught me that art isn't what you see on the surface.
The other paintings taught me that we should be thankful for art as it makes us have a beautiful environment.
