Here we are again, guys—where I remind you that I tend to put darker twists on franchises I write fanfiction about. The Ghost of Ontario was a seedling, but I'm taking it up a notch with The Lightning Spirit, so you can enjoy a popular franchise while also learning important life lessons along the way.
So, let's begin, shall we?

Topics to be aware of:
1.) While The Ghost of Ontario's central theme was colonization, The Lightning Spirit is maturing it further. Instead of colonization, its theme is erasure and the loss of identity, another thing that is generally avoided in family-friendly projects.
2.) Compared to The Ghost of Ontario, The Lightning Spirit is darker, with more extended themes of loss and grief, but not graphic—just enough to humanize the Mystery Gang further and have them grow alongside Ihaan and Ro. This story falls under the angst with a happy ending trope, so there will be a little drama.
3.) Finally, a smaller theme in this story is the betrayal of friendship, even if you aren't fully aware of it; the prompt I chose to base this story on spotlights this theme. As a reminder, I decided on Prompt #111: "A single night can change everything. Even someone you thought you knew—like your closest friend."

However, despite these themes, that doesn't mean this isn't another fun-filled Scooby-Doo adventure because it is; I focus a lot on character development, and I achieve it through mature themes. You guys are in for a fantastic journey that builds on The Ghost of Ontario, so I really hope you enjoy The Lightning Spirit!
