Let's talk about... "A Quilan Called Brisance"485Please respect copyright.PENANAzZC5od0IsR
I started writing Quilan back in 2013. I had been gung-ho, overly ambitious, and had this idea in my head that I'd thought was infallible. Well, after about 100,000 words, I was beginning to think I'd bitten off more than I could chew. I was only half-way through the story, and I had plans to write another two book after that. What the hell had I been thinking, right?485Please respect copyright.PENANAB319sZj08S
I scrapped it. Totally abandoned it. I dreamt about it. Drank over it. Mused and brooded and pulled my hair out over it. I remember sitting fully clothed in a motel bathtub back in 2015, smoking a Camel menthol, debating about whether writing was a viable vocation for me anymore, while shampooing my hair with the other hand. 485Please respect copyright.PENANA04b1EZueTb
That's a happy memory for me because it was in that moment that I decided I needed to finish "A Quilan Called Brisance" for my sanity's sake.485Please respect copyright.PENANAEXoxe9Y7c4
So, when you're reading Quilan, you will noticed a sudden shift in story direction from chapter sixteen onward. Gone is the slow burn and smolder of events. Suddenly there's action, stunning shifts in character development, people crack actual jokes, and for some reason there's freaking suspense that lasts for more than a few pages. And, oh yeah, things are actually explained. It's glorious, but...485Please respect copyright.PENANA9U4OuJhw5p
And I mean, a really big BUT... if you've liked the story so far, and have had no problems with it, you're gonna have a bad time. You've been forewarned.485Please respect copyright.PENANAseFoO1F8F9
