We glorify what is disgusting,

That death is a beginning

And obesity is a beauty

And education is everything

And offending is wrong

And killing for a nation is honor.

We glorify and preach to our children

That the world is good

When half is starving

When half is fighting

When politics are a way

Of ensuring safety and Justice.

We claim the world is becoming better

That tolerance is key,

And tolerance is good most certainly,

But where is that line

Of good and bad?

Of decent and indecense?

What happened to the morals of the world?

What happened to the time where kids could go

And meet the new neighbors

Without being afraid they are rapists or druggies?

What happened to the time

When people were active and healthy

And realized bad things were really bad?

The world’s a mess, and no one admits it

Because we are too afraid

Of actually doing something good.

There’s too little love and honesty in the world.

Stop being afraid of saying the wrong word

And of the people you know nothing of.

Stop talking about the bad

If you’re going to do nothing but watch it on the television.

Tolerance isn’t enough anymore.

Love is the only way to fix the world.

Say hi to the kid sitting alone at lunch,

To the worker who seems a bit odd,

don’t just stop for the old lady crossing the street

But get out and help her.
