Davo is ready to take on the challenge of Five Triangle Arts. He was when he entered, anyway. However, he will never be ready for... a written test.
He fared perfectly fine in the physical exam when he entered the Academy as well as the physical exam just minutes ago after the newbies had taken theirs, but to retain intelligence of such as rudimentary culture, history, and even science is too insignificant to remember! That's right, as simple as he is, Davo was raised as a noble. His childhood during the Freir War consisted of a rather pampered yet exerting lifestyle. He was a prince, after all! It's not as if he's not knowledgeable, it's just... learning is stupid. He's a full-grown man now! Well, maybe he has yet to be able to grow a beard, but he's sure it's his blood lineage that keeps him from growing facial hair. Yes, he definitely convinces himself that he's too good for this whole 'learning' thing that he has to do while undercover.
But no, he must learn. He can't fail this test. No, never! Failure would mean expulsion of the studentship in the Academy for Davo, and that means never meeting the Eslient, and never fixing the view of the West to all of these stupid, immature, racist, dumb students!
Oh, the students. Putting on the facade that Davo is nice to them? Yes, he does, but he really hates them to his core. The previous Scentral generations are the reasons for his bloodline's downfall, his natural rights as a noble crushed into a fine dust underneath the imposing doom of the Empire. Plus, it never hurts that the Freir Kingdom was striving for equal rights amongst nobility and commoners, as well as between Magon and Nigon. Even if the former ideal is complete bullshit, it never hurts.921Please respect copyright.PENANAyIdiWPX5vK
"Time's up!" a teacher's voice rang through the room, "Utensils down, papers flipped."921Please respect copyright.PENANA4SsWlBysA5
Over already? Well, it wasn't so bad, Davo thought, I feel confident about my ability on this test. I must have done extremely well because of my noble background.921Please respect copyright.PENANAyqRKuis2La
After the tests were taken and everyone filed out of the classroom, destined to immediately go somewhere to lounge or sleep, Davo made his way to the small Westerner's room. A place that has been repeatedly called the "Little Westie's Room", mocking a toilet room. Damn bigots, Davo thought while walking past the Scentral students.921Please respect copyright.PENANA5L99OJdj02
Inside the room, Davo made himself comfortable. He was oh-so tired and ready to take a nap. Someone would probably wake him up when they entered the room, so it was promised to be a short nap indeed.921Please respect copyright.PENANAitObswX9PV
"Hey, Freir!" a very obnoxiously loud voice called to Davo.921Please respect copyright.PENANAX8jkZpMLhh
"W-what do you mean?" Davo nervously responded while looking toward the door. It was Amaliva, a stupid cheerful smile upon her face.921Please respect copyright.PENANAch3AyMXODJ
"Hi!"921Please respect copyright.PENANA1GU8Euf7Zz
"Oh, you. Not all Westerners are Freirs, you know. That's racist."921Please respect copyright.PENANAvXSKzzyDXJ
"Hah! A humor like always, Davo. So how's the test been to you?"921Please respect copyright.PENANAuG2EelcZtv
"Fine. I feel confident."921Please respect copyright.PENANAId9v2iKoNS
"Of course you would, you're a noble after all." She gave a little wink to that statement.921Please respect copyright.PENANACNSou4q3BI
"Alright, I need to know. How do you know where I come from and have you told anyone about it?"921Please respect copyright.PENANAEbn2L0YumD
"Davo, everything about you reeks narcissistic, pampered overlord. You're a noble through-and-through, and the only nobles that have that hate in your eyes could be Freirs." Narcissistic? Pampered?! What HATE?!921Please respect copyright.PENANAgXuwxxiB6k
"Wh-"921Please respect copyright.PENANAoxKGDMl5fQ
"And I never told anyone. Anyone who can't tell who you are doesn't deserve to know who you are. So don't worry, honey, I never told the Scentral bastards." Another playful wink.921Please respect copyright.PENANAxCA0xHEMVx
"Wh... well. Okay. Good enough."921Please respect copyright.PENANAZS1tcXE9Xs
"HELLO THERE," Ek barged in, quite literally barged in the door, "The great Ek is here! Oh, I know, I know. Oh, please, ladies, contain your squeals! I know I am just too much!" Ek spun a chair and threw it in front of the doorway.921Please respect copyright.PENANA8WU2hOFgQT
"And here's the strange one," Amaliva announced. Davo nodded in amused agreement.921Please respect copyright.PENANA4VlbEk0z53
"Hey, fellow blues," Malro greeted, tripping over the chair planted by Ek, "Ow! Gods damnit, Ek! One day you'll be the death of me..."921Please respect copyright.PENANAr8DeC3ZIdQ
"Thank you for that compliment, Malro my boy," Ek expressed, shimmying next to Amaliva on a cushioned piece of furniture.921Please respect copyright.PENANAV7UqGkUOLc
"Oh?" Keko wondered aloud, "So we now have cushions and pillows? That's strange."921Please respect copyright.PENANArsD9mGqI5B
"Almost as strange as Ek," Imillia commented. Half of the room gasped at the sudden change in the girl's humor.921Please respect copyright.PENANACVY12PYnDQ
"Okay, you fuckin' bastard," Amaliva accused, standing and grabbing Keko's collar, "What is that thing and what did you do with the real Imillia?!?!" She pushed him against the wall, her brow furrowed in a fake look of anger.921Please respect copyright.PENANAQvoHJRrIIY
"Hey, it's not my fault she knows a joke," the young man pointed out. He brushed Amaliva's hands off of him, grabbing a seat next to Imillia.921Please respect copyright.PENANAtmtYNoM4qT
"That wasn't expected at all," Ek said.921Please respect copyright.PENANAAKCDUzoADd
"What?" Malro inquired.921Please respect copyright.PENANAl0cRri0hQL
"Keko just sat next to Imillia."921Please respect copyright.PENANAZkKOkMrWNh
"Oh. I get it." The other three nodded in agreement, while Keko and Imillia wondered what exactly was happening.921Please respect copyright.PENANA0oqdXNncCY
"SO! Tests..."921Please respect copyright.PENANAmasISR7HqG
"How did you do, Ek?" Amaliva asked, back in her seat next to Ek and Davo.921Please respect copyright.PENANAfVuwMsV9lw
"I feel terrible about it! Probably the best I've felt in my entire life."921Please respect copyright.PENANAWS02porNYk
"That's a sad life you have," Keko interjected, "But I feel good enough about the exam. We Westerners have enough brain to get things done, that's for sure."921Please respect copyright.PENANAYjJOVybQkc
"Couldn't agree more," Malro acceded with, "My test was done vocally in a room with really scary administrators."921Please respect copyright.PENANAyZhdhIvbEf
"Oooh, spooky," Ek remarked.921Please respect copyright.PENANAYqaE1c2iX2
"I could feel the atmosphere change every time I got an answer wrong. So I feel like I did well enough to pass, but bad enough to feel dumb."921Please respect copyright.PENANAJKT8ybv6BR
"Don't worry, dear, we all feel dumb together," Amaliva coaxed, "I think I did pretty bad. I hope I passed."921Please respect copyright.PENANAP5CVO3sUvf
"Same," Imillia concurred.921Please respect copyright.PENANAczeOUlBYIO
"And I feel fairly confident," Davo said, "I would complain about the test because it was dumb, but I knew enough to be only a little dumb myself."921Please respect copyright.PENANA1c3ccKWzF8
"Aye," Amaliva began, "So would you say you were... Freir-ly confident?" A cheesy smile came across her lips due to her own joke.921Please respect copyright.PENANAHrjgwsm802
"Hahah," Ek fake-laughed, "Very funny. You see, this is why my jokes are better."921Please respect copyright.PENANAtwYSk69hxY
"Bad dog," Malro scolded, lightly hitting Ek's arm, "Doggies aren't supposed to make others feel less significant... even if it's true."921Please respect copyright.PENANATmromMqxih
"Ouch, Malro, that hurt," Amaliva pouted, feeling an evil grin beginning to form, "So does being blind make you less significant?"921Please respect copyright.PENANAmETDSguaFY
"Obviously I'm not the blind one here because I know I'm the better-looking one."921Please respect copyright.PENANA9JQPZqsbXk
"Damn!" Ek yelped in amazement, "Good one, you two! And that comeback, Malro! I didn't know you had it in you."921Please respect copyright.PENANAdBF0bffvK4
"Shush. What does a good dog do?"921Please respect copyright.PENANAwjKBA9VWNB
"Oops. I mean, woof. Woof, woof. Woof." Ek started scratching the bad of his ear with his hand like a dog.921Please respect copyright.PENANAsJWOrPIQ5b
"Good boy." Several pairs of eyes were confused on what just occurred.921Please respect copyright.PENANAtUyoNKrCam
"So," Amaliva started, staring too long at the spectacle, "What are we going to do today?" She looked around the room this time, surveying the blank, sleepy expressions on everyone's faces. "Really. We all look like the recently deceased."921Please respect copyright.PENANAAXElXFHgHC
"Nap day," Imillia replied, "We're all tired, so we could skip club time and nap."921Please respect copyright.PENANAWaWMXwfQEs
"G'night!" Ek yelled, pushing Amaliva off of the cushion in order to stretch and begin the start of a long hibernation.921Please respect copyright.PENANAAvWOwtP655
"Not if bastards keep taking all the comfy spots," Amaliva muttered.921Please respect copyright.PENANAVwQ3de63bs
"I'm pretty tired," Keko said, "I think I'll go to my room."921Please respect copyright.PENANATsvVZb6ylU
"I'll go to mine, too, then," Imillia responded in pursuit.921Please respect copyright.PENANAmSg7hFnnlw
"No, you can stay here with the others." Keko put his hand out to stop the girl from rising from her seat.921Please respect copyright.PENANAQAvQ765cns
"No, Kekie, I'm going with you." A firm look of defiance came across Imillia's face, something scary for someone so small.921Please respect copyright.PENANAoONmlSBdh3
"Uh..." Keko looked around the room for visual advice. Everyone was shaking their heads, a few of them smirking or giggling. Even Malro shook his head. "Oh. Um, fine. You can come, too, Imillia."921Please respect copyright.PENANAvqO2MTJJRl
"Okay." The girl stood up, resuming her usual facial expression, and followed Keko out of the door.921Please respect copyright.PENANAVx5m9YyyhF
"I swear, that guy is one of the densest sods I've had the misfortune of meeting," Amaliva sighed.921Please respect copyright.PENANAQ7EcDibQGA
"Aye," Davo agreed, "Poor girl doesn't have a chance with someone who's as blind as Malro is."921Please respect copyright.PENANATzAGjAJqhw
"Damn, Malro," Ek exclaimed, "Everyone's picking on you today! Whatchya gonna do about it?"921Please respect copyright.PENANAPRdd66T3vx
"I'll visit them in their dreams and brainwash them into puppies," Malro answered, "Kind of ike I did with you."921Please respect copyright.PENANAYTLQi5P3vW
"Oh, woof woof. Woof. Wof. Wop. Pop-a-doodle."921Please respect copyright.PENANAm1sfERt7p7
"Odd bunch we are," Davo chimed in, "All of us."921Please respect copyright.PENANA2UXB2ThdUA
"That's what happens when a bunch of Westerners congregate," Amaliva guessed.921Please respect copyright.PENANAFIgRICeLYT
"I'm off to the room to sleep," Malro stated, "You coming, Ek?"921Please respect copyright.PENANAotmzouvKGs
"Woof," the other replied. The two boys fled the room, leaving the last two behind.921Please respect copyright.PENANAM8nLwvp3GU
"Is this going to be tradition, having just us two at the end of every short conference?" Davo asked.921Please respect copyright.PENANAxE2U6lsAha
"I think so, Davo," Amaliva answered, "But I kind of like it."921Please respect copyright.PENANAwsxHgneNEP
"Okay? How does that change anything?"921Please respect copyright.PENANACG0pk5HPXh
"You're my friend, Davo, so I'm going to put this bluntly: you're a prick."921Please respect copyright.PENANABvzrty1lY6
"Thank you."921Please respect copyright.PENANA7SQLxQPs13
"No, really, you have too much bravado, too much say for yourself. Quit it. Quit being a Freir and be a Westerner."921Please respect copyright.PENANA1jyUGdUW7M
"What if I like being a Freir instead?"921Please respect copyright.PENANASVURvBWK6K
"Then." Amaliva leaned in close to Davo, "I'll never like you enough."921Please respect copyright.PENANAGzgrl4iN6U
"Uh... okay?" Davo leaned back against his chair. "What does that mean?"921Please respect copyright.PENANAIZzWYkM69V
"You're my friend, Davo. Not much else. Bye, see you in the fourth degree, handsome."921Please respect copyright.PENANALltuML3Y0n
"Um, sure. Yes. See you." The girl exited the room.921Please respect copyright.PENANAxCZ1QZR3wd
Now, Davo began thinking, That girl is just a bundle of puzzles.921Please respect copyright.PENANABi1LO5s2p5
