The darkness is easy to fall into.

It grabs you and doesn’t let go.

Thats what happened to me.

The stress gets to me.

The darkness gets to me.

No matter how hard I try to escape it.

It always comes back.

The stress always comes black.

It yanks me from my happiness into its churning, dark depths.

There it surrounds me with its whispers.

”You must be this. You must be the best. You must be more. You must meet these standards.”

It tells me over and over again.

Day after day.

I’ve grown used to it.

I’m ok.

I know the stress is always there.

Sometimes it will emerge.

And take me back to its dark place.

Where it feels like the weight of the world crushing me.

But I fight it.

The darkness doesn’t win.

But I don’t either.

It’s still there, just asleep.
