Not too dark, but has a few dark themes.

I am the boy

too often trapped in his mind

reliving the horrors

of the memories left behind.

I am the boy

who dropped out of school

when the other's bullying

became way too cruel

I'm the boy who sits silently

and writes and draws all day

just to escape the memories

that come out to play

I'm the boy with scars

from the sharp blade of a knife

left over from the time

I tried to take my life

I'm the mental reject

and a victim of a father's game

with way too many fears

and an imagination you can't tame

I'm the boy who is

still learning to be ok

I may not be right now

but I will be some day

I'm the face of autism,

depression and PTSD

My mental age is sometimes lower

than I look to be

Most of all I"m a survivor

who made it through the pain

though part of me is the scared boy

standing in the pouring rain
