Back story: As a human, he had a best friend, Mike. While Mike pursued the path of being a businessman, Tori (at the time) wanted to be a scientist. After graduating from college with a degree, Tori worked at a research lab for some time before reuniting with Mike later in life. Quitting his job a week later, Tori and Mike lived together in an apartment. From there, Tori slowly built his lab in the apartment room's closet.
