this may sound super biased but
I’m either being biased or captain obvious here, but this has been on my mind ever since I saw some anons marvel at how “dreamy” Haru looks in this scene… and since I’m in RinHaru rambling mood, here I go:

Thing is, I think we can all agree that these two probably are the two most charming scenes for young! Rin and Haru respectively. The way they’re drawn, their poses, everything - they’re meant to look, well, dashing.
And what I love the most about that isn’t only that they look that way for each other - but that at that moment, we’re seeing Rin and Haru through each other’s eyes. We’re literally seeing them as they see each other.

In both cases, when we first see the scene from an omniscient POV, we see things just as they are: namely, the trees are not in bloom, there is no wind, no nothing. Heck, in the second instance the tree isn’t even between them.

And it goes without saying that they certainly weren’t alone in either case:

Yet, once the perspective of the scene changes - once we do start seeing it from Haru’s and Rin’s eyes respectively, the trees are in full bloom:

And the petals are just gushing around:

And everything but each other fades into the background:

So I feel that another thing that makes those scenes so special and poignant is that Rin and Haru look the way they do not only because they bring that out of each other - but also because that’s how the other perceives them. It’s just like how the trees are in bloom because we’re being taken into their minds and hearts; it’s all a reflection of the way they make each other feel. Of the impact, they have on each other.
Rin is the person whose words changed Haru’s life; the one irreplaceable person he absolutely does not want to do without. Haru is the person who saved Rin; the one person Rin absolutely cannot bear the thought of being left behind by. And so, that is why they look the way they do. Engulfed in light, caressed by the wind, surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom, outshining everything around them to the point that it all just ceases to exist in each other’s eyes.
So I feel that the way they’re drawn - ie: how charming they look - is also a reflection of the way they feel about each other.
