Camp Crystal Lake is cursed since Jason Voorhees drowned in 1957. But did he? After the deaths of two camp counsellors in 1958, and accidents, the place is closed. In 1977, Steve Christy, the son of the original owners, saves up $25,000 to fix up the camp. By 1979, he hires several teenagers to look after the camp, unaware of the danger they're in.
