Gretel kissed Karen.

They were in the bedroom.

Their eyes met, as the sound of footsteps disturbed them.

'Mom!'.

Karen turned away, and the door opened.

'Hi, Mom. This is my friend, Gretel. We were listening to Jefferson Airplane on the radio'.

'You're a lesbian', she said.

'Yes, I am. Gretel is my girlfriend', she said.

And then she closed the room.
