'Charlotte!', yelled Daniel.

'Yes, Daniel'.

'What about the family?', she asked him.

'Your family is not my family', Daniel answered her.

'No, but I am sure, deep down, your Mother is not going to let us marry in the future'. Charlotte, who was now thirteen, gazed at him.

Daniel smiled.

'I want to marry you, Charlotte, when we're older'.

'Marry! Oh, I don't know about that, Daniel'.

He watched her, as she frowned.

'Marriage between families can destroy us'.

'Yes, it is unfortunate', Daniel sighed.

'We're thirteen', Charlotte said.

'Yes, and vampires'.

'Yes, that is why your father and mother won't allow you to marry me because my father, Lord Nathaniel, was banished. Mother was upset'.

'Yes. But you have me, Charlotte'.

And he kissed her.
