Daniella leaned back and watched the two girls try to figure out the brain puzzles. She had brought Stephanie's friend Allie to surprise her. Stephanie was propped up by pillows on one side of the bed while Allie sat cross legged on the other side of the bed. Her phone was placed against the rail while playing music. Something by Riley Clemmons if she had to guess.
She got a text and saw that if was from Josiah. He was here.
Daniella wasn't sure if he would was going to be here, they had talked about it but she wasn't sure what day it was. She stood up and picked up Stephanie's favorite book in the entire world What Momma Left Me- by Renne Watson and set it down in the bed next to her, "Stephanie, I have to meet someone outside but I will be right back."
They both nodded and went back to taking turns trying to figure out how to crack the code. Daniella didn't have to walk far to find him, "Hey."
"I want to see her."
Daniella studied him, "Just visiting, no overnights."
He nodded, "Please Dani."
Allie's mom burst through the conversation, "By Daniella, it's getting late so we are gonna head out."
Daniella said goodbye and turned to Josiah. "Come on."
They walked to the hall and reached the room where Stephanie was now reading What Momma Left me with her earbuds in. Daniella walked in with Josiah following behind her, and sat down on the bed and gently took the earbud out of Stephanie's ear.
"Stephanie, this is your father."
