(Lily’s POV)

A bright white light flashed into my vision quickly, caressing my head until it bounced as light as a cotton ball and finally forcing me to close my eyelids tightly.

Then my body just floated away as if I had wings that spread out invisible.

time seemed to stop.

Something warm feels flowing slowly into the surface of my chest

Hhhh....This feeling.....

"We promise, we’ll be back before you blow out your candles...." the soft voice softly caresses my ear, forcing me to squint.

Mom??

An elegant woman with long wavy hair gave a warm glance. Her slender fingers caressed the face of a sullen girl in front of her.

"But Mom, why do you have to go today? Can't it be postponed until tomorrow?" The shoulder-length haired girl looked sulky.

Hey, that girl! Isn't she…..

"I'm sorry, but I has no other choice, honey....we'll try to get home as soon as possible......"

her voice sounds reassuring

No.....no.....not this again....

"Promise mom? I...will be very sad if you & dad come late....." the girl stuttered.

My chest suddenly felt tight at the words that came out of the young girl's mouth. Followed by a sudden feeling of anger creeping slowly in the recesses of my chest

Stupid girl! It's all your fault!!

Why did you say those words?

Why ???

"I promise ....." she answered softly then hugged the girl tightly.

Deg !

My body froze as soon as I saw the scene in front of my eyes and I couldn't help the pain that started to stab at the surface of my chest

Can I still prevent all this??

Is it possible??

"I should go now......" her eyes softened

Wait.... !!

Stop, mom!

I tried to move my legs but they just couldn't move an inch.

"Smile, honey.... My pretty Lily flowers won't be beautiful anymore if you don't smile..” Her voice was getting fainter in my ears. Her smile faded in the wind, while the young girl just stood there.

Hey, what are you doing??

Don't you just stand there ??!

Do something!

I tried to scream but it seemed like they couldn't hear me

Mom... ! Wait !

Don't go......!!

Her graceful figure, her warm smile suddenly stepped away….. farther and farther towards the endless light that swallowed her mercilessly.

Mooom....!!!!

Dad...!!!!

Don’t..... !!!!

Then they all disappeared completely

My body trembled uncontrollably, my chest constricted by the constant stabbing pain.

The tremendous pressure seemed to be falling on my body until I just slumped to the ground

That’s greenish white ground

Grass....

grass that covered in thin snow...

This snow....

The winter breeze that came out of nowhere suddenly hit my face as if it brought back fragments of bitter memories that I had hidden for a long time.

Not this place....

The thin snow that fell to the earth's surface could not block my now glaring vision of the object in front of me.

Two boulders of gray stones standing upright, covered in snowy grass...

Tombstones.

Above the surfaces were engraved the names of two parts of my soul that I love the most in this world, whom I always waited for but never really came back.

Daddyyy???

And I can't hold it anymore

As the snow fell closer and closer, my tears raced to the ground as if trying to represent the pain that was tearing my soul apart..

spewing anger...

regret...

and the sorrow that has been held in my chest all this time.

Mom….

Dad….

I’m sorry……

My voice choked and all the colors in my world,

shattered to pieces that moment.

I was jolted for a moment with a rush of breath and my heart was beating so fast. The stinging feeling that lingered in my chest finally forced me to open my eyes.

Aah... a dream...

It's just a dream, Lily…

A freakin nightmare....

I took a deep breath to calm my beating heart even though slowly I could feel a few tears falling down my cheeks.

Ah, I…..cry?

I haven't dreamed of my parents in a long time and the events that took their lives. But the dreams this time were very, very clear, as if they came back for real in front of me.

I can't deny, on one hand I really miss them but on the other hand that longing feeling comes along with the pain of having to lose them too fast.

And it's all because of.....

Aaah...

Stop it Lily!

I opened my eyes wider to get rid of all my worries and then all the images in front of my eyes became clearer.

A room with white walls and a spiral lamp of the same color above my head... then a very familiar smell to my senses...

And the warm breath on my neck

Uh..?

I turned my face to the right slowly to find that handsome face sleeping beside me, his face almost touching the crook of my neck.

His strong arms were still around my waist but not as tight as before.

His warm breath regularly caressed the surface of my neck, making me press the surface of my lips hard.

Tae...?

Since when did he sleep in this position?

And why didn't I notice at all?

I grimaced slowly realizing I don't remember the slightest thing that happened after I finally fell asleep in this room.

Arrrg...Lily Byeol ! This is what happens if you drink too much! I scolded my self.

I massaged my forehead slowly before finally looking at Taehyung's face once more, his wavy hair seemed to fall over one eye. His sharp nose and red lips are like a masterpiece sculpted perfectly in front of me.

His face looked calm and peaceful.

My heart suddenly beats slowly realizing the position of the two of us on this bed which seemed to be hugging.

Did something happen last night??

Is he.....

are we....?

Dang it. I don't remember anything.

But not a single piece of cloth was missing on my body, I was still fully clothed, and so was he.

This is a good sign.

Right??

Tae suddenly squirmed softly, he seemed to be grinding his teeth nervously as if he was dreaming.

Without being able to prevent it, I ran my fingers slowly across his hair, stroking it gently following the way it fell on my shoulder, trying to calm his down.

Could it be that I'm still dreaming?

Because his face is now so close.

too close…it seems unreal.

Without realizing it, my eyes were completely on the surface of his slightly parted lips, making me have to press my lips hard because somehow I felt the warm radiance from his body.

My cheeks heat up instantly.

Hmm....how does it feel to touch those soft looking lips?

Gosh, Lily.....

You are totally razy!

What the heck are you thinking ??

.... come on...

you can't be here...'

Suddenly my rational mind jumps in without me asking.

I quickly pulled my fingers back from his face while taking a deep breath then glanced at the clock on the table which showed the time

01.05 am !

Oh this is terrible! I really have to go..

Slowly I spread my arms, trying to reach the pillow at the left end of the bed while trying to move my body gently away from his embrace. Every now and then I glance back at Tae's peaceful face who is still fast asleep while shifting slowly making sure that I don't wake him up.

After much effort I finally managed to got loose completely from his embrace and place a soft pillow next to him instead.

Phew. Luckily, he didn't wake up at all.

I stretched my body slowly, expelling all the aches that were felt in my joints, Tae seemed to hug me so tightly that I couldn't move freely during my sleep earlier.

When I was about to step away from the bed, suddenly my eyes were distracted by the pieces of paper on Tae's desk that looked messy since earlier.

Aah those papers haven’t left their places since yesterday ?

Do I have to sort this all out?

Curiously I approached the table and began to look at the papers.

Fragments of separate words appear written on it. Some are scratched roughly, some are engraved. I smiled knowingly that this might be Tae's way of coming up with ideas for the lyrics for the song, starting with random words or themes that spontaneously crossed his mind.

Then I saw some papers lying at the very end and looking wrinkled from being kneaded which caught my attention.

Maybe they were lyrics that he didn't use?

I slowly opened them one by one and smoothed them with my fingers to clearly see Tae's handwriting.

When I read slowly, I immediately bit my lip hard

"This pain is real...."

"Hide inside a smile"

"My savior..."

"don't leave me...."

"Where are you now?"

"Don't leave me...."

"Would you save me?"

"don't leave me...."

Immediately, I gasped as I read the last line of words and then glanced at Tae who was still fast asleep.

Kim Taehyung?

What's wrong with you?

What kind of sadness do you keep?

Why are your words sound so sad?

"Don't leave me....?"

And just like that my eyes suddenly watered trying to drown out the pain I felt in the dream that came back to the surface quickly.

Ah....why is this feeling coming up again?

I slowly touched my chest and searched for something that had been hanging around my neck for a long time. After finding it, my fingers spontaneously pulled it from under my shirt.

A necklace with a tiny pendulum in the shape of a pair of silver angel wings is now tightly gripped in the palm of my hand. This necklace was my 17th birthday gift from my mom and it's been around my neck for the past 3 years.

It's like holding mom's warm hand...

I glanced back at Tae who was still sleeping with various feelings raging in my heart before finally deciding to do something that I should have done a few hours ago:

left the room silently.
