My lungs felt like they were on fire when I came to. And my dry throat didn’t help either. What I also wasn’t prepared for was my parents fighting. I was awake and willing after the shouting woke me. And might I say I was more than surprised by the words on my mom's side. But other than that I hadn't ever known dad gave up his parental rights. That was news to me.

Unfortunately my conscience took over again and when I awoke the next time I could actually move. Really only my chest hurt when I lifted myself up but the pain subsided seeing Faye at my side. She was asleep on the chair but had her torso up laying on the bed. Thankfully she had her head turned my way with a bit of drool coming down and if I had my phone I'd take a picture.
