ALTERNATE UNIVERSE is an album I wrote in early 2024 in response to the way men have treated me as a receptacle throughout my life. That experience is at its core, but the album also explores lust from two conflicting perspectives: one that rejects hookup culture and one that constantly craves it - imagining myself in both roles, in an alternate universe. A piece that embodies this contrast is Interdimensional Urges, which reflects on the decline of domesticity in a relationship from both sides.

The title, ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, comes from the piece of the same name, which was inspired by a short-lived, fling-like relationship I wished had evolved into something more. That longing, that desire for an alternate outcome, shaped the album’s concept: taking real situations from my own experience and playing them out through different characters - sometimes hinting at change, sometimes rewriting the ending entirely.

This album was pre-poetic Rebel, but still written during a phase of poetic curiosity. The pieces are more song-like than poem-like, making them more accessible while still serving the album’s purpose - something deeply personal yet open for others to find meaning in, even if its themes are niche. These include catfishing (God You Want), body dysmorphia (Signature Move), and coming out guidance (Best Advice).

Ultimately, ALTERNATE UNIVERSE was the first album I wrote with a clear concept in mind, and it will be the only album I share that predates FIEFDOM FALL. I hope you enjoy shifting perspectives through these pieces, all centered around the age-old question: what if? Writing this challenged me to see things from different angles - I hope it challenges you too.

A dream I had.

By the year 2070 tensions between the world superpowers grew to a point where starvation ran rampant and confidence in leadership lessened by the day. The people needed heroes and a select few companies rose to the challenge. Bringing an end to starvation and secretly inciting rebellion. They fueled a war against their oppressors. World war 3 began in earnest in the early 2080's. Nearly ending with certain nuclear disaster. The same companies who incited it ruined the infrastructure of the superpowers rendering their missiles inert and useless. Taking control from the United Nations this newly formed United Corporations took up the mantel of responsibilty.

Their guiding mission: to better mankind and defend it at all costs. Their drive was their fuel: The people. Trust, confidence and above all truth rang out in this new era.

Yet a dark cloud loomed on the horizon. An opposing force greater than any in creation. Evil corporations that survived the hostile takeover still clung to their idealistic and monetary beliefs. They used subtle social engineering and subterfuge in an attempt to undermine their own saviors. A mastermind hidden for eternity bent on destruction.

These evil forces banding together to bring back the old world order of injustice and inequality encroached upon one of the U.C.'s crown achievements. The new Pharoahs capitol city of Sphinx. A new war is well in the making. With a driving force far older than any could imagine.

Three and a half thousand years ago a secret was buried in a tomb in the valley of the kings.In 1922 a tomb was discovered by the archaeologist Howard Carter. Carter emptied the tomb, his discovery of Tutankhamun instantly becoming the discovery of the century. That the tomb had more to give never crossed his mind.

In 2016 Evie Veniet embarks on a Nile cruise. Along with a rag-tag group with no archaeological experience whatsoever, they set out to push the limits of Carter's discovery, to go beyond the North wall and uncover a secret that has been hidden for thousands of years.
