This wasn't the original start of the series. But as I planned out it's sequel, I realized I wasn't starting the story in the right spot and pushed back events. This became it's own book when I realized how much will be going into these starting years of Myla and Audric's relationship dynamic.

As such, this is a coming-of-age story about how and why these two have such a hold on one another as they do as adults. It'll have a bittersweet ending as where it ends will be close enough to where the sequel begins.

Learning who she is on a farm is, it seems, the gentlest way to go about her amnesia as Myla comes to learn.
