A contest with no word limits! But your story must include these three things:

Identical twins, a party invitation, and a locked closet.

Have fun! Submissions can be anything - humour, horror, etc. Get creative!

The winner receives a cut-out paper award with the phrase "well done"  and a picture of a steak on it. (Results may vary)

I think I'm going to start doing these. I will show a picture that I have and the task is to write a story around it. I saw this on the side of a trail in the city while riding my bike.

The genre can be whatever you want. Mystery, thriller, horror, fantasy, supernatural, etc. based on the image. Give it back story, perhaps. Be creative and have fun!

There is no required length. Just write your story with however many words you feel comfortable.

It's time once more for the  Penana Character Talent Show! Bring your best characters and put them to the test! Displays of grandeur and extreme skill are welcome, but beware, the readers are your judge! Appeal to their curiosity and you may just take home first place, but too much personality and you might just lose favor. The stage is yours...

In this contest, authors will write up an entry as to what your character's talent would be, should they ever enter a talent show! Get creative, and aim to please the audience! Here are the rules:

Authors:

-You may go into as much detail as you'd like about your character's act or talent, however, you may not describe the audience's reaction, as that will be the readers' jobs!

-Try to keep entries short enough to be no more than a 5 minute read.

-You may also react to other characters' entries, however, negative commentary and insults are not welcome! The entire point of this contest is to have fun, and salty people aren't fun. Encourage others to join and perform! :)

-Don't be afraid to use this as a way to promote your stories! You can shamelessly add a plug at the end of your entry to let readers know where they can find the rest of your character's adventure on your profile. :)

Readers:

-Your comments and likes will be the figurative reaction of the audience to the author's act. You are encouraged to display your enthusiasm through the comment section of each entry, and be sure to let the author know exactly how their act made the audience react! (Clapping, whistling, and standing ovations...yes!)

-If you enjoyed a particular act that you would like to see win, don't be afraid to recommend it or spread the word!

Write about a character who is stuck with a mental disability, any kind, and try to picture them as vivid as you can about how they go on with their lives. It must focus more on their disabilities, and not the characters around them. How you describe the story is all up to you. Is it a positive story? Is it a negative story?

For this contest, I want you to take the image below and create something with it. A story. A quote. A song. A poem. Any form of art you wish. Here is my example, it came to mind the first time I saw this picture:

As I jumped and skipped in the pouring rain, I knew people around me enjoying the sunny weather. All of them under their dimly lit umbrellas, seeing an imaged sunny day. You may not know but, the world has changed. It rains everyday without end. We’re lucky to see a sunny day. People started to complain, get lazy, and slow go into depression.  So, in response, scientists created an umbrella that creates an image the holder wishes to view. It was created for the greater good but also as an experiment. Everyone in the world received one of these ‘wondrous’ umbrellas. I did was well, and you would consider me an outlier in this experiment. I tried it and within the first second I threw it into the back of the closet. I didn’t need an umbrella to enjoy life. I could see it with my own eyes. Rain falls everyday, just like everyone’s hopes for a sunny day. I didn’t lose my hope, I never had to have hope. I had all I needed. A light, even if these clouds brought what everyone else saw as a darkness.

I never understood why, I still don’t. But, it doesn’t matter. Life can continue to pour down on me but I’ll never coward away. I’ll always stay out, taking anything and seeing it as a light. Even if no one else sees it.

That's just my example, I just want your response or thoughts to this picture in a form of art.

Since it's a short stories contest, I'll put the maximum word limit at 4000 words. Can you go over by a paragraph or two? Sure thing. Make a list of five qualities that you would hate the most about a person. It can be anything, even qualities that some people would consider to be good. And then write a short story where your protagonist possesses all of those qualities. The catch? You have to make your character likable.  And the best part is, there's no word limit :D

You are given the chance to return to earth or your home planet to speak with one person, but you only have 10 minutes and only the person of your choosing can see or hear you. No word limit, just use whatever you need to tell the story. If you wish to write this as fanfiction, please make a note of that.Since some people may have concerns with doing it based on themself, as long as it follows the rest of the prompt,, I won't be too picky as to things such as alternative worlds, realities, ect. if you wish to change names, or locations that too is fine. In the end, this is fiction, so have fun, can't wait to see what is written.
