Ross' hugs, are like going home to your favourite dinner after a wet and rainy day, followed by curling up by the fire watching your favourite television show until you fall asleep peacefully. As he encompasses my body with his broad shoulders, I pull away and eye him. Noticing the same sweet smile, that says I've missed you, true blue eyes that search mine to check that I am okay.

Altering my body and pulling back I glance over my shoulder to see that Matthew has gone. Most likely in order to avoid witnessing Ross hugging me or to get a drink. Probably both.

"Hey, I've missed you. You look..wow, an angel" He says with his normal wide smile. Ross puts me at ease, the worry I feel about just laying eyes on Jay Gilbert Scott or indeed Jen disperses when I gaze upon his easy smile.

"Awesome let me know and we'll make some up" I tell her giving her a wide grin. As I eye her short black lace dress and witches hat and bag, I realise it’s the simplest outfit I’ve seen her in with the least colour.

"Witches are pretty cool" I say and she smiles at me as if to say enough with the compliments. Phillipa stands in her usual spot to the side of Rach, dressed in a white and red nurses outfit. It's PVC and it accentuates her frame.

"It's not a big deal" I smile handing her a small wrapped box which I hope will make her smile. I clock Jay walking back into the large kitchen noticing my exchange, Matthew just slightly behind him with two drinks in hand.

Jay Gilbert Scott in a suit is not a sight for any married woman. Not that I'm married, but rather completely and utterly in love with Matthew. Still the allure of that man in a suit is something I will not deny. Not that I will ever admit that to him of course, or anybody else for that matter. I glance back down at Phillipa as she opens the box, stunned by my gesture. I get the feeling she lives in everybody’s shadow, Rachel’s and her brothers. With their birthdays being so close I can imagine they throw a party for him and just tack her on the end of the celebrations.

She opens it and her face lights up. I noticed before that she had a charm bracelet on. I also saw that she wore a lot of purple and so I bought her a charm. I just went with the only lilac coloured one I could see. She seems to really like it and I am pleased. She actually hugs me.

"Tay that's really nice, I love it" she says genuinely. I spot Jay behind her and of course my Matthew. He looks abashed, clearly Pippa does not hug a lot of girls.

“Classy” he laughs looking at me and I smirk. His hand still on the small of my back, he stares into my eyes just briefly. I sigh deciding that I am far too familiar with him. I simply must have Matthew in my personal space right now.

"All good, how's you" Ross says back and I sigh at the guys and how they cannot possibly talk to each other. Rachel rolls her eyes and giggles with me.

Sipping my drink slowly I notice Jay watching me from afar. He doesn’t make any apologies for his stare and I notice Rachel attempt to grab his attention. Rather enthusiastically by shoving her tongue down his throat.

Jen appears behind him, practically tugging Rachel off of him as he jokes with her to wait her turn I roll my eyes. She shoots me a glare and says hi rather sarcastically.

“Jay” she demands as he glances at me again. I eye her stark black hair against her pale skin and the black outfit she is wearing that does nothing but wash her out. I notice that her outfit consists of a black cape and striped tights. Another witch? How original I think before looking down at Jay’s widening grin. It’s like he can tap into my thoughts, totally unnerving.

With clear derision on my face I decide it’s a good idea when Matthew directs me to a sofa and we sit with Rhea and Malachi. Ross tags along with us clearly not enjoying the fights over Jay’s affections by the other two girls. I perch myself on Matthew’s lap, his arm draped around me, Rhea and Malachi opposite us and Ross next to me in the corner.

Ross engages me in a conversation about a book he’s currently reading and I find that I forget all about Jay and the girls draped over him on the opposite side of the room. Ross is currently reading The Great Gatsby and I love hearing his opinions on it.

I waltz back to my two boyfriends my heels clinking as I go. Offering Ross his drink first and then Matthew a brandy on the rocks, I catch Rhea smirking and I roll my eyes. I turn on my heels back towards the kitchen.
