But none that work to detail the chill that overtakes me,

Science gave me solace in nature and nurture in tandem,

Perhaps a change of scenery and a prescription bottle,

May carry me away from all this by tomorrow--

Chained to this earth and to my mother’s frozen heart,

I already feel old and yes that’s partially chemical,

But perhaps I’ve lived a thousand days for one etched in tin.
