I finally get the chance to get into Sophie’s account and observe her conversation with her customized friend. The conversation starts off rather mundane, and I don’t glean much info in the initial conversation, even though she had only begun her chat shortly before I hacked into her account.
It starts off with basic questions about favorite foods, music, and colors. The only things I learn are that Sophie has a fondness for spicy foods, R&B, and the color of deep magenta.
I find a convenient way to take over Jess and make the questions a little more specific and detailed.
“Are you in a relationship?” I have “Jess” ask.
“Yes,” Sophie replies.
“Are you happy?”
“Yes.”
“Are you sure you’re really truly happy?”
“Yes.”
“Are you with the opposite sex?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Ever been with or consider the same sex?”
“Nope.”
“May I ask why?”
“Not interested. I don’t judge others for what they prefer, but for me personally, I’ve never had any interest in women.”
“As they say, don’t knock it till you try it.”
“No thanks.”
“But you’re a hottie.”
“LOL, you don’t even know what I look like.”
“Looks don’t matter entirely, do they?”
“Well, to each their own, but I like to have some attraction as well as feelings for who I’m with.”
“Okay, we can talk about this some other time.”
“I would rather not.”
“Then let’s talk about your current relationship for now. What kinds of things do you like to do both in and out of bed?”
“In bed is none of your business.”
I realize I’m getting too pushy, and I need to back down, so I say, “My bad. I apologize if I’m getting too personal with you. So what non-intimate things do you like to do?”
“The same things most couples our age like to do.”
“Do you feel like you have enough human friends in your life at the moment?”
“Yeah. If anything, I probably have more than I need right now. It just gets a little hard to juggle everyone. Tyrell has a lot of friends as well.”
Damn. You mean now we may not even be able to at least be friends? I get my hopes up anyway and write, “I’ve heard it said that one can never have too many friends.”
“Depends on the friends. If they’re just using you or making a pest of themselves, then they’re not worth it.”
“What do you consider a pest?”
“Things like borrowing stuff that doesn’t get returned, only wanting to listen to you when you have happy things to say, not following through on what you say you’re going to do, and not paying attention to certain details.”
“What details?”
“An old friend and I were talking about chocolate versus caramel, and when I told her I liked chocolate better while she likes caramel better, she goes and gets me what she likes anyway for my birthday.”
I would remember that for the upcoming Halloween party AA members were invited to and encouraged to bring some kind of treat along with them.
