I followed Maya around in school the next day. She had resumed a normal routine now. Even returned to her normal seat which had once been next to my own. The only thing which hinted at something not quite all right were the glances she kept sending in Mathew's direction. She was gathering courage but for what?
Veena on the other hand was being her usual self. She kept trying to speak to Mathew in the intervals between classes but he kept ignoring her. Treating her as if she was some sort of fly buzzing around him. She pouted at this and when the bell rang for lunch, she ignored him and sat with her friends.
It didn't bother Mathew in the slightest. He sat alone, turning down his friends calls to join them. Maya approached him warily. 592Please respect copyright.PENANA4jJ10Qh1nV

For a moment Mathew looked confused. Then he nodded.592Please respect copyright.PENANAboWDVf9jyE
"You know how Ophelia's diary ended up on your desk? That was me.I tore up the page you wrote on that day. She never saw it." 592Please respect copyright.PENANAk7BRCIy0PP
She said it in one breath, her eyes deliberately not meeting his. I wish she did. I wish she saw the anger and dislike in them. The shock I once felt on discovering the deception of my best friend was now replaced by a red hot flame of anger.592Please respect copyright.PENANALQhUuiYFUK
I wanted her hurt.592Please respect copyright.PENANACeRKwjXtUa
"Why?" Mathew asked, his voice cold. "Why would you do that to her?"592Please respect copyright.PENANArZJgYkVKH3
Maya's lips quivered as she answered. "I thought you liked her."592Please respect copyright.PENANAAvkM6kVUo8
